a removable bladed FX would be awesome indeed....
but think of the logistics -_0 all those LEDs in the blade linking up with all the other electronics. they're engineers are uber-kewl.

I have to say the "Q" and the "Joe Jedi" would both be pretty sweet.

As excited as I am about these new sabers, I must say I'm a tiny bit disheartened that there's still no Dooku. I love that hilt, it's definitely not my favorite, but it'd make for an awesome collector's piece to set next to my Luke (and the Obi-Wan I'm getting this coming week). I've heard something to the effect that the reason we haven't seen one yet is the curved hilt makes it harder to implement the electronics, but I don't really understand that. Can anyone clarify on this? Also probably my biggest wish of all is that we eventually see more of a true sith red as opposed to the red we have. Don't get me wrong, the Vader ESB is nice (my brother got one when I got my Luke), I'd just like to see something a bit more authentic as well.

It's because of the battery pack dude.

I've thought as much, but surely there must be a way to make it work without compromising the integrity of the design. Ah well, I'm sure if there's a great enough demand the folks at MR will work something out. Maybe have the battery pack somewhere else? That would likely look rather awful though.

It's not the battery pack at all. That last angle is about the same size of a battery pack.
Problems are: -Emitter: needs to be straightened for the blade and the claw pulled back. -Manufacturing it all would require high quality casting like they do for the LE's. That is not cheap and feasible for the FX line.
That's a lot of design obstacles that make it the hardest for MR to introduce. I think it can be done, but on the scale MR produces makes it hard for MR.

I would think that if masterreplicas can pack the fx-stuff inside that little hilt of yoda's then it should not be that much longer down the road for masterreplicas to make the dooku. I would not be surprise to see it next year maybe.Every year since I've started to buy the fx's tec has only got better . just my thought.DaJoQuim

As far as the "Q" and Joe-Jedi ones, there is no real info on those yet.
We all assume that Joe-Jedi would be a kit with a number of parts to build your own hilt but that's just everyone's best guess.
Many people have been trying to get some info out of MR but no one knows anything new yet =(
I'm just hoping for the Obi-Wan TPM sometime in the next year or so myself...
