Ahahaha, I like how Vader walks out of the classroom.
That was educational though. Thanks for posting it, Kit!

Very enlightning. Do all jedi learners choose there combat style? If so, id use vaapad, but seeing that i use dual sabers, and use them upside down, would it still be considered vaapad, just my own style of it?
Thanks for the video, once again!

Very educational. I'd prefer Shien/Djem So if using one saber, while I'd use Niman/Jar'Kai while using doublesabers- the lightsaber weapon I'm most proficient at.

The Jedi didn't get to choose their style, but were given a style to best compliment their abilities. Vapaad was only known by a few (and not completely) because of the risk of falling to the dark side due to insanity.

i see, i kind of understood the part about vaapad already, but would i was trying to ask is like, you know how Master Windu uses Vaapad, but uses a single saber. Can you use Vaapad but use a different lightsaber, such as a staff or dual sabers?

Quick run down of the fighting styles...
Shi-Cho is like kendo... like samurai sword fighting. Basic fighting style, which is why most don't usually specialize in it.
Makashi is like fencing, very quick strikes in contrast to powerful ones. The Makashi mindset is to always get an advantage, using your opponents attacks to benefit your goal of winning.
Soresu... pretty much all defense. Wait for an opening, then take it. A true soresu master can win a fight with one attack.
Ataru would be the hardest to perform because it involves a great deal of acrobatics... unless anyone here is actually Force sensitive XD
Shien/ Djem So would consist of a lot of wider strikes, much like Luke Skywalker when he was rushing Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi.
Niman is more of a philosophy than a style, which was balance. Balance between Force use, offensive strikes, defensive maneuvers, etc... which left Niman primary users at a disadvantage in certain areas. This was easily proved when none of the Niman users survived the battle of Geonosis.
Juyo/Vapaad is lightning fast strikes and spins, using emotions to fuel strikes... which is why most users either had to be extremely powerful or dark siders... Now unless you're absolutely sure that you can baseball swing your saber and not break it, I'd advise not using this style with a Force-FX lightsaber lol
And that's pretty much my thoughts on saber forms... please don't slay me XD

Landayu, to answer your question, yes. Essentially you could use double blades or two sabers, which Mace Windu did occasionally. It would be much harder to use that form because of the complexity of it, but it's possible. I would stick to one saber until you master that. A lot of people have this want to break out a double blade and just start swinging. It doesn't work like that. You learn a single saber before anything, always. That way you don't hurt yourself. It's not just two sabers attached to eachother, you have to learn to move it without hitting yourself, all the attacks and blocks have to be positioned in a different way. It takes a long time to learn. That and Vapaad is JUST theory. No one can say they "know" Vapaad. You take the principals and basics and use it to make your own forms.

That's how I started out: one saber. Then I got into staffs and such. I took Kendo courses and such, so I utilize most of that in my dueling.

No prob man. The great thing about lightsaber combat is since it is just "theory", you can take different strikes and maneuvers from different martial arts. Go on youtube and look up different sword forms. After watching a few, you can learn the basic strikes and integrate them into your own theory of Vapaad or any other form that fits you. You also have to take in consideration of what best fits you, not what is the coolest sounding. Vapaad or Ataru are definitely the coolest sounding, but I use Soresu because it fits me better. I can find gaps in peoples attacks and take advantage of it easily. Another big thing is your body type. If you are big and tall, Makashi will probably benefit you better because of reach and power, if you are short, you will probably want to go for defense or try to get in close real fast. Figure out what fits you, then use it for your advantage.
