Not huge information, but it lends more credence to the rumblings about Boba Fett playing a big role in the show. Anyways, this is from the New York Comic Con so I thought I would share: NYCC 07: Star Wars -- Behind The Mask
Peter "Chewbacca" Mayhew and Daniel "Boba Fett" Logan on playing their respective characters and yes, the Star Wars Holiday Special.

February 23, 2007 - Ever wondered what it would be like to give life to Chewbacca? How about Boba Fett? The talented actors who play these beloved characters dropped in on a panel to reminiscing about their experiences filming the installments of the Star Wars film franchise. Hosted by our friend Daniel Robert Epstein over at suicidegirls.com, the panel entitled "Star Wars: Behind The Mask" was well attended by fans of the characters in addition to a gaggle of brilliantly costumed Star Wars characters in the audience.
Peter Mayhew is a tall, imposing figure with a huge mane of hair, he cuts the same profile as Chewie. What's surprising is how soft-spoken he is and how in love with the character he has become. For Mayhew, the reverence for Chewbacca is deep. When asked how much of his character was improvised, Mayhew told the story about how he and The Empire Strikes Back director Irving Kirschner came up with the sequence on Hoth where the outer blast doors are closing and Luke and Han appear lost. Chewbacca lets out a huge yelp when the doors close, one of the more memorable and revealing moments for his character. "I had tears in my eyes," Mayhew said, "It comes across so well."
Mayhew also spoke about his excitement about being able to play Chewbacca again in the prequels, one of the few characters who were brought back: "It was absolutely wonderful. It was like something you've done as a child and then get to come back and do it again. It was a dream of a lifetime."
New to the Star Wars universe is Daniel Logan, the actor who suited up as Boba Fett. Not at all shy of the new digital technologies in filmmaking employed by Lucas, Logan actually prefers working in front of a green screen. "I loved it," he said. "Imagine if you were an insect in the middle of the room just completely surrounded by green screen. I used to get into trouble with my crazy imagination and here that's all I get to do." Logan went on to explain how he was a little disappointed that the monsters he imagined when acting in the green screen environment were scarier than the ones that made it to the screen.
Asked about how much leeway he had with the character, Logan spoke about Lucas' direction to him. George told Daniel to inhabit the character and make him his own. "You're Boba Fett. He's yours, whatever you want him," Lucas told Logan.
Mayhew briefly talked about the changes from filming between the first and second films and how there was not a dramatic a shift some might have suspected. What did leave an impression on Mayhew was the filming conditions in Norway where the Hoth sequences were shot. "You'd walk out of the hotel and have to be very careful or end up in snow up to your neck. The cameras were freezing up and the lenses were misting up from the temperature difference."
Mayhew also spoke about the dangers of going outside in costume. During the filming of Jedi, he was instructed to never go out walking in the woods in character. "Remember, this is bigfoot country. I didn't want a double-barreled shotgun in a significant place. I wore bright colored and orange clothing," Mayhew said.
Finally, on the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, Mayhew delighted the crowd with his frank assessment. "I never got a straight answer from anyone about why it was made. I think they wanted to see how long they could keep people in a costume."
As for the forthcoming live action Star Wars television show, both Mayhew and Logan would love to be involved. Logan has a meeting with Rick McCallum next week and seems eager to reprise the role. Mayhew, the sage, simply smiled and said "I think he (Chewbacca) is going to be there. He needs to be there. It's all in the lap of the gods."
