From the looks of it they used condensed air to "catch" the light from the projector. It's genius. 20k is abit steep . Could probably recreate the same effect with a dlp projector and dry ice in a chamber with a regulator to control and pressurize the vapors coming off the dry ice and shooting out in a thin layer from a vent. the air would have to be regulated so it would remain "invisible" to the human eye more or less. And pressurized to shoot out constantly in a think stream. Also would save on the amount of dry ice needed seeing as how it would evaporate slower. Gas displays, I wonder what's next.
It's nice to see minds being put to use.

it seems prety useless to me, you could just have a peice of paper there instead of the smoke. but this is a step towards 3d projection. in order to have it really 3d they would need more projectors from different angles of the room and more smoke.
its the same flawed philosophy with lightsabers. you cant make like just stop where you want it to with out putting something infront of it.
