I am at a crossroads right now. I bought a MR Darth Vader ANH, and i have been trying to learn spins but as of right now, it is destroying my hand when I try to do anything fancy due to all the sharp points close together.
So, I am considering buying an UltraFX Lightsaber just to do some spins, but I have no idea about how well these lightsabers work. I am just looking for a few basic things:
- Good Length - I need one that is about the size of The ANH Lightsaber. So Taking that into effect, the current options are the Vagabond, Manticore, and Prophecy. The length is important, because I intend on learning on one of these and then transitioning to the Vader.
-Good Weight - It needs to be able to spin without feeling floaty, as anybody who has tried to spin something light with alot of surface area will know, no matter how fast you spin it, it will not go over right.
- Stability - I am a big guy with long arms and when I swing and spin, it moves really fast and when i stop it will stop. Since the blade is removable, and is in with a hex nut I can't have it breaking off when I spin.
Anybody who has any information on these blades, or any insight into what they are like or a reccomendation PLEASE SEND ME A PERSONAL MESSAGE ASAP I would really appreciate any and all responses because If nobody supports those 3 blades then i am just going to get another Force-FX that is a different shape in order to practice.

Whoohoo! Been a while since I posted here, but I've been overseas for much of the year. Anyhow, just wanted to say hello again and let you know I finally bit the bullet and bought an Ultrasaber It's the UltraFX Construction Kit and it looks as if I got the last one available (for now). Now comes the horrible 5-6 week wait for the darn thing to arrive lol Anyone else have this kit? How do you like it? Cheers

Alrighty, either this board has become severely inactive since I last used to frequent it or no one has one of the UltraFX Construction Kits. After reading about it more online and having a few questions answered from UltraSabers themselves, I've decided to change my order to the UltraFX Luke ANH Saber with a Consular Green LED. If anyone has this saber, feel free to chime in and let me know what you think of it compared to the stock MR Luke ANH
Thanks in advance

You should see the blades they make they are kickarse. They just released Ultraedge which is white-polycarbon which diffuses the light much better than before! no more light in a tube effect,
It's also made Xwingband jealous because it outdoes his Nylon style Blade you can see him arguing with UltraSWG demanding credit and acknowledgement etc ala Hyperdyne vs Ervin.

Back in '06 I purchased a Luke saber from ROTJ. I got it converted by Ultrasabers into an Amber/ Fire Orange UltraFX and I love it. I've seen these new UltraEdge blades and I'm clamoring to get my hands on one. Luckily it works with the Luke ROTJ UltraFXs ;D

Just a note of caution i have heard that white polycard blades get more washed out in direct light very easily.
this might be validated or refuted in due time as more and more info comes out and more people compare blades.

Of course they do. All light gets washed out in direct sunlight. Theres not many lightbulbs as powerful as the sun!

You are correct, kind of. If it is under direct light such as florescent lights than it does get washed out a little bit, but it is not very dramatic. And to be honest, I don't think I ever use my saber under direct lights, especially florescent ones. I am a college student by day and a Jedi by night ;D However I do appreciate the friendly warning. Thank you.

If the batteries were brand new, then I'ld suggest trying to get in contact with Ultra, it could be a fault in the wiring, perhaps. Bad luck if thats it.
Also on the topic of Ultra Sabers, I'll be getting some money soon and I'll be able to buy a saber, and I've had my eye on two of the E-series Ultra Sabers. The Phantom, and the Dominix. I'ld really like to get the Phantom, because its not only an affordable Saber-Staff, but it also doesn't need a seperate coupler, and you can get two seperate blade colors, for dual wielding, if thats what you want. I'm just really torn between the two. Don't want to regret my first Ultra Purchase, thinking about the Saber that could have been, lol.
