Finally! Took me long enough, huh?  I'm pleased to announce that Balance of Power, Episode II: Ashes of The Phoenix... is finally here! Special thanks to my cast, for sticking through a tough and grueling process, and understanding the demands of a performance of this nature. Also, a very grateful thank you to Christine Doyle and the BayCon 2007 camera team--the footage was fantastic to work with in compiling a great look at BOP II. Finally, super special thanks to my g/f Jen for capturing a great amount at BayCon as well! OMG DUDE!! That was pretty awesome!!  I liked it VERY much!! ;D Btw, you guys made your stormtrooper outfits right?? Cuz sum of them didnt look like the real ones! haha I thought they were until like the camera zoomed in or sumthing. Very nice. But yea. What did you make them out of?? I really want to know! Haha. To make my own! |

Yes, the ST outfits were incomplete in some cases...  I basically gave the actors the materials, directions, suggestions and resources to create what they needed... out of... FOAM! That's right, thin, simple, flexible foam. I even made a partial "test" suit to fit me as an example... which ended up being worn by Anthony D. (Darth Necro)... but it was never intended to be for him. Everyone (naturally) has their own size, height, width, etc. -- so I needed to have my actors contour the suit to their own size, portability, maneuverability, etc. However, I had other jobs to do rather than "police" the actors who did not go into every detail. In the end--you can see where the highest amount of efforts were, and also--where the suit could have gotten in the way of... *ahem* saber battling.... So... all in all... I challenge others to try moving around in any semblance of an ST costume. For more deatils--check out what LUCAS had to go through with the big plastic suits and his actors. Rough! |

BOP III casting and rehearsals is somewhat underway.
We may decide to use the thin-walled blades from now on (more like the blade inner-wall thickness in MRFX sabers) rather than the thick-walled ones... but I have yet to test them for durability extensively.

Peace be upon all, Hey! I can't believe I just found out that this was out today! Congratulations and great job to you and your team Greytale! Your talents, dedication and hard work shows. I really, really enjoyed this one a lot and I mean it. I got totally sucked into the theatrics, drama, lighting, humor and of course...the LIGHTSABERS! I laughed really hard at the extra material at the end Time to make some hi-quality downloads available and a DVD with BOP 1&2 on it. Thanks again all... obviously, I wouldn't continue these insane endeavors if people didn't enjoy them... it appears that they DO... I'd be happy to work with BinAdam (Aaron) to get some high-quality versions of BOP I & BOP II... maybe even stuff for the future... |

Hi again Kit... The slow mo "weirdness" *WAS* actually an effect I did with the footage. I decided to take just a LITTLE liberty, and have a bit of fun. All that was done was taking the same footage and laying it over itself, slightly behind. It reminds me of the "Matrix" dodge effect they did with one of the MIBs in Matrix II, I think. Anyhow... one update... We *MIGHT* have a nice TV studio performance!!! Yay! Granted, it sort of takes away completely from my idea for it to be totally live, but... you don't pass up chances such as this I would think. If all goes well, it will air on public access TV in Berkeley. It is possible we won't be able to do the logistics and get it done (as it is now time for me to "retire" BOP II and move to III)... but keep your fingers crossed. FINALLY: If you liked BOP I & II... and wish to see more... or even if you like the sound fonts (7 now!) that I created for Erv's Plecterlabs board... PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE show us your support and donate even $1, $5, $10... it need not be giant!
