the green luke ROTJ is discontinued and wont be made again so its probably worth more in stock condition.
eiterh way I would get a stock MR version with no modifications, and then, if it ever breaks, you can always send it away to get it converted by 'Ultrasaber'
or: get the 'do it yourself' conversion kit for $45 and do the conversion yourself if/when the saber breaks.

If it don`t look like a REAL lightsaber in pics,it because you using a flash when you take the pic, turn flach off and turn down the shutter speed.

To add to what Kit Fisto said, if your camera has a night mode that will really bring out the color in your saber as well. That's been the key to getting the "white core" in the pictures I have taken.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums but not to the site. I recently got the Maul dual saber for my birthday. It's awesome! I also bought the ROTS Anakin saber this week. When I was showing a friend, I tapped the blade to make the clash sound. When I did this, the lights went out for a split second and then came back. This is something that has persisted for the past few days. The saber was right out of the box. Also, it doesnt happen every time, only sometimes. Has anyone else had this type of experience before, and do you know if it is an easy fix. Perhaps something I can do myself? I appreciate your time and any help you can give. Thanks, JacenSolo batteries. that happens because the clash sound draws power, and the batteries are struggling to keep up. so to speak. use energizer "max", or duracell "ultra" (instead of the standard energizer/duracell). don't use rechargeables or 'bargain brand' alkalines. Awesome! Thanks. I will give this a shot when I get home tonight.

Hey, i have a question. How hard is it to make the conversion yourself with one of the DIY kits? I haven't actually done one myself but I've heard that it comes with very detailed instructions with plenty of detailed pictures so you won't get confused on what to do.. but some of the models can be tricky to take apart and you might need some obscure tools to open it up. but like I said I haven't actually done one so I'm not sure exactly whats involved

hey i know the new version of lukes rotj has been discontinued by MR, but ive seen alot of people saying it is very bright and also very loud, which is good of course. is it true that its really bright and loud? and is it comfortable? just one more thing , does it have more than 1 sound effect when it clashes?
thanks alot guys

As far as how loud it is, I literally can't hear the Vader ESB when I turn the Luke on. As bright as all of the FX sabers are, Luke does seem to dwarf them as well. I used it recently to navigate my house during a power outage, while my brother was doing the same thing with the Vader ESB. I don't recall how many clashing sounds it has, but I'm fairly certain it's more than one.

That really depends on how the person feels about collecting things, lightsabers, and Star Wars in general. To me it's completely worth it, and I think nearly everyone on the boards will tell you the same thing. It's really hard to get an unbiased opinion on something like this. If you're looking for something a bit cheaper though, Spencers has(d?) the Vader ESB FX saber for around 69 dollars. You should still be able to find it at their website or at practically any Spencers store.

The Obi-Wan saber is 95 dollars shipped at barnesandnoble.com, I ordered one and it was defective, but they refunded my credit card and I ordered another. I got a sales tax places on mine that brought it up to $100.50, and this time I paid an extra 6 dollars for 3 days priority shipping.
