What with October coming up, Halloween isn't too far off. I don't plan on actually going trick-or-treating, but I am considering accompanying my brother and walking with him while he trick-or-treats. With that in mind, I'd like to make my own Sith costume. I have an idea for what it would look like, but I'd like some opinions first. Here's what I plan to assemble the costume from so far:
- Plain black t-shirt with sleeves cut off, and the collar cut to form a V shape for the outer tunic.
- A tight long-sleeved black or very dark blue shirt underneath the t-shirt for the under-tunic
- Black gym-style sweats
That's all I can think of for the costume at the moment. I need to think of something to use for the outer-robe. Does anyone know where I can find a cheap black robe? Another possibility is that I could just use the black cape I used the last time I went trick-or-treating. I'd also like to get some black gloves, and black boots to complete the costume. Does anyone have any idea where I could get some black gloves that don't look totally bulky? I was thinking of using some black-leather gloves that people tend to use in the winter. And as for the black boots...I was thinking of looking at Hot Topic for those, but I don't know if I'd find any there.
Edit: I just looked in my closet to see if I have the cape I used last time...and I don't. However, I do have one thin cape I used once before. I could put that on underneath my long-sleeved shirt and have it drape down my legs for a kind of Darth Bandon look. What do you guys think?
Does anyone have any help they'd like to offer me?

As far as a robe goes for you man...I was thinking of going to party city (if you have one) and searching through for a grimm reaper robe with the black faceless mask part. Get it and cut out the black face part and it could serve you as a robe. Also can get a good set of black gloves as well from party city or Wal Mart. That is what I am planing for my costume. I am still seeking out a belt and all and am thinking of using the long part of my under shirt. Boots I would say go to wal mart and get some of those rain boots you see in the back. They are shinney but will work. Everything I am doing is what I have posted above.
Good luck and thanks for some ideas so I can get a good looking costume for me to put together. This will be my last year of trick-o-treating as I love getting candy...who doesn't. But yeap last year has to be the best year LOL! Can't wait to see your costume and all that other good stuff.

Hey bro....I've had ideas of my costume in mind ever since August. I've been doing small scetches and thrift store looks as well as store looks throughout the weeks and months. Finally, I've gotten stuff together and can't wait to actually wear it bringing two lightsabers along at school and all that great stuff to show people the true power of the darkside in my costume. LOL! But yeah no prob.

Haha, that's funny. If I get my costume ready before Halloween, I'll probably wear it to school and make the infadels bow before me, lol. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to bring my Vader ANH Ultra-Fx saber....darn Catholic schools, lol.
Hey, where's a good place to find a plain black t-shirt? I don't own any regular ones, and I desperately need one for my costume.

Plane black t-shirts can be found at wal-mart in the mens department. They usually come in a pack of five or three shirts that can be worn for about $4.00. If you want one that has the sleeves cut off then look for that but other then that a plane black shirt can be found in the pack of three at wal-mart. I use plane white t-shirts for my NJROTC wear because that is what wea re required to wear.

Awesome, thanks again. If it comes down to it, I'll probably end up cutting the sleeves off myself. But yeah, thanks a bunch.

-Update [/b] No additional progress has been made so far. However, I have decided that my costume will include the following items: - Plain black t-shirt with sleeves cut off, and the collar cut to form a V shape for the outer tunic.
- A tight long-sleeved black or very dark blue shirt underneath the t-shirt for the under-tunic
- Black gym-style sweats or regular black sweats
- A thin black cape that will be worn underneath my sweat shirt, and will drape down my legs
- Black boots
- Black leather gloves
- A black robe purchsed from Party City. I will cut down the middle of the robe so it has an opening like a Sith/Jedi robe.
- My Darth Vader ANH lightsaber, obviously
- A belt, but what kind is pendingSo far, I have 4/9 items I need for the costume. I just need help with what type of belt to use before I begin purchasing the supplies necessary for my Sith costume. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Actually someone spoke of going to walmart and use women belt because they are more bigger and can be used to get the better results. I am not sure on using this kind of belt but if I do and make a belt I will be sure to show you some pics of mr progress and the product I made

I wanna make a costume, but I don't wanna wear a girl's belt, lol. They have some pretty good belts at Tilly's, so I might look there. The only problem is they run really expensive...I bought a backpack from them like last year, and they charged us at least $75, and the backpack was easily torn up too!

My costume is complete!! Here's a pic of me in the completed costume: It was taken with my cell phone, so as you can see it's not very good quality. However, I will have a picture taken of me in the costume later on with a real camera, so that way it'll have better quality.

It looks like an official sith belt in my book. I am thinking through just getting a black belt from the thrift stor and use it as a belt for my costume. Then I plan to go to Party City to get the mask and gloves.
