While Nintendo has been in the business longer than Microsoft and Sony, it doesn't seem like they have much to show for it, huh? I mean, the best game they can come up with on their own is about an Italian midget (Mario), with over a dozen different versions of the game from the original Gameboy versions, to games such as Super Smash Bros. versions. And their graphics...doesn't seem to improve much, do they? Now I'm not a slave to graphics, but I'm just saying it seems like Nintendo hasn't really made any remarkable progress in terms of graphics like Sony and Microsoft have. It all looks kinda blocky, and I guess that's what turns me off from Nintendo. I don't know if that's just their style or what, but it doesn't really apeal to me. So yes, Nintendo has been around longer, and yet Microsoft and Sony are making more progress in terms of game systems.

Zelda. Metroid. Donkey Kong. Star Fox. Kirby. All remarkable games only for Nintendo systems.
Yes, Nintendo has been the leader in graphics before. The only reason they're not anymore is because they realized that having good graphics isn't important. The best game ever rated didn't have that good of graphics and it was a Nintendo game. The Super Nintendo was ahead of the rest at its time because it had 32-bit graphics. The Nintendo 64 was the first good console (the Atari Jaguar did come first, but it sucked) to have 3D graphics, so Nintendo has been ahead in graphics. Another thing about graphics is that just because the Wii and GameCube's highest resolution supported is 480p, the graphics can be good. Have you ever played the game Metroid Prime? I mean Metroid Prime. The first one. Not multiplayer on Metroid Prime 2 at some friends house. I mean the first one. It recieved a 9.7 rating, but not for its graphics, because it was an amazing game.

Mainly it is because of the technology that we are coming out with. With all the software we are recieving and all the people who are graduating from college with degrees under their belts it has been an experience of getting more consoles like the PS3 out which has exceptional graphics to it.

The PS2 version is better than the Wii version. The control style is better and more accurate, the camera is less dodgy, and the 2 player on the Wii sucks so much its hard to talk about.... - Lord Caedus - The control style is more accurate? I'm not too sure what you mean by this, but if we were to judge the accuracy of how a person moves to how the character moves onscreen, the Wii version would win by a long shot. Yes, the duel mode has its up's and down's, but it's not so bad, that it's hard to talk about. I don't understand why so many people look down on Nintendo antway. They've been in the video game console business longer than Sony or Microsoft. Oh and by the way I love Nintendo. I own every every Nintendo console (I used to own a Wii but I don't anymore, I didn't like it, got a PS3 instead), and I can honestly say that in my opinion the wii is just a novelty console. There are a couple of hardcore games on it, but its mainly plagued with crap. I have played The Force Unleashed on the Wii and I instantly hated it. The way you can point the Wii-mote at the screen is accurate when you are choosing on the menu and stuff, but when you swing, it just detects the motion, then half a second later swings almost any old way, just in the general direction you moved the Wii-mote, not at all how you would want it too. Its not accurate to your swing, the multiplayer is probably the worst Star Wars multiplayer to date (Revenge of the Sith is infinately deeper and detailed) and the camera angels seem to be more sporadic and annoying than any other format. I just do not like the Wii version at all. The Wii is more suited to shoot em ups like Metroid Prime and Resident Evil Umbrella chronicles. They are amazing games, the Wii-mote doesn't work as a sword or any close combat weapon. Thats just my opinion though. The Gamecube is my favourite Nintendo console every made, closely followed by the N64.....Perfect Dark is the best first person shooter of all time...... - Dark Anakin -

Now if you had read what I wrote properly, then you'd realize that I don't dislike certain games due to their graphics.
If I were a slave to graphics, I'd own a X-Box 360 instead of a PS3, it's just a matter of personal preference.
I have nothing against Nintendo. I just haven't been able to get into their games, mainly because they make several sequels to almost every single one of them. There is, after all, such a thing as too much of a good thing. The fact that their graphics seem 2-bit is just a side point, not a determining factor to my dislike of Nintendo. Another reason I haven't been able to get into their games is because the ones they develop on their own seem to be aimed more towards the younger audiences, which is why they don't really apeal to me that much. I'm more into games that involve blood-shed and wars, and more often than not Nintendo seems to come out with kid games. I'm not picking on anybody here who enjoys Nintendo's games, I'm just stating a personal opinion.

Nintendo develops their games to people who want to have a lot of fun. Some of their games like Majora's Mask are very dark and evil.
By the way, Dark Anakin, even though I don't pay too much attention to reviews (they piss me off), the Wii version of "The Force Unleashed" got the highest rating.

I hate the Wii after playing TFU Wii version. It just sucks in my opinion. I think its the worse console that Nintendo have ever released. It has no substance, its just like a kids toy. Well, I'll say that it's probably the console with the newest idea behind it. What has Sony or Microsoft done to really create a brand new system. Improving graphics and adding a Blu-Ray drive doesn't count. The only major difference I can see is doubling the price.

Now it's probably not a very good example, but it's the only one I can think of. Microsoft hasn't come out with anything new, but I believe Sony has with the PSP, along with the additions to PS3, other than the Blu-Ray disc and improved graphics. Besides being able to play games and DVD's, they have internet access, and they can play music as well. Given that the X-Box had the ability to play music before Sony did, but it's still technically a new addition. Not to mention, the music and internet capabilites apply to both the PS3 and PSP, although I have no idea how to access either of those capabilities, lol. But I don't really care, I'm just in it for the gameplay. And then this is just a personal little quirk I'd like to throw in there...on the Wii you can make your own freaking avatar? WTF is that all about? (No response to this particular point is necessary, it's just a small, personal quirk I felt like putting out there.)

The Wii has the most imagination behind it, but the PS3 and 360 have way more good games. I'm not gonna buy a console just because it has a lot of imagination behind it. And seeing as Microsoft is trying to become like Nintendo, and focusing more on family gaming (they even have their own Wii-mote), I thought the PS3 would be the way to go. Its more of a hardcore gamers console. - Dark Anakin -

I had a couple of good games like Smash Bros Brawl and Umbrella Chronicles, and I've played loads. Metroid Prime 3 being the only other one I enjoyed. Zelda Twilight Princess I much prefer on the Gamecube, I prefer the DS Mario Kart and the rest of the games I have played (too many to mention them all) didn't really cut the mustard for me.
I did really like Umbrella Chronicles and Metroid Prime 3.

OK. I can't disagree with you on those being good games. I can, however, disagree that the Playstation 3 has better games. All of the "good" games seem to be first-person shooters about war.
