The beginning DRUMS that start the film off were spectacular...
you could tell there was a darkness, that this was a beginning..
I waited 20 years (since 6) to find out WHY Vader was serving this thing.. this creature that he hated... and the drums got me to tears... then the war scene was breathtaking... I didnt like that the drums turned so fast to a upbeat war... there is nothing upbeat about REAL war.. there should have been more darkness so that people were aware that the Jedi were shadowed by this WAR that the darkness of it was blinding them even more than they began to be in ep1
BUT that is not my favorite scene!!!
I love them all.
ONE proves me right though...
I was waiting for it for a LONG TIME.
I want to mention First though an Obiwan scene....
I knew that Obiwan was corrupted by fear back in ep4.
I never liked him BECAUSE of that.
So when he asks Anakin to go against all he believes, all he has learned and all that is Jedi and manipulate, lie and conceal... Ani asks him WHY ARE YOU ASKING ME TO DO THIS and he says.....
Because the council asked me to..... this conceals what is true.
The council is filled with that shadow and with fear.. they are willing to give up their VALUES and beliefs for this war.
Obiwan is ready to do as told.. and that proved my point about that character...
I was dumbfounded by that scene... it should have lasted LONGER so that people could see how big a thing this was to Anakin.
The BEST scene though is when Anakin (aka Vader later) says what I always knew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I watched him look as if he had given up hope after Mace gets killed by Sidious.. and I saw the strange look on his face at his first kneel... I saw ANGER in his eyes towards the sith.. and I always knew he HATED that creature.... in the trilogy.....
But when PADME COMES TO SEE HIM ON MUSTAFAR and she is talking to him so close one to one... (before obiwan betrays her completely and comes out after tricking her into taking him to kill her own husband... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)
ANYWAY......... Anakin tells Padme
Dont you see?? We dont have to run anymore... I CAN DESTROY THE EMPEROR...
and then he asks her to rule with him
JUST LIKE later he asks his son to do the same.
I was sooooooooooooo relieved.
I KNEW that Anakin hated that creature and wanted to kill him from the moment I saw him kneel at the first computer generated Image of him....
the way he tries to act as if he is obidient and then manipulates the emperor cracks me up!!!!!!
So when he told Padme of his plan...
which I thought was a pretty good plan by the way..... well except for the having to corrupt himslef with the darkside by killing the little ones part....
I KNEW.... I was right... he did this so that he could find out what it meant to be the "chosen one".
At that point he thought that it was so that he could rule and create order and FIX the galaxy and force.
He knew the Jedi were grey.. and he knew that they did have to be cleansed...
Order 66 was going a bit to far .............geeeeeeeeeeeeez
But it was true that they needed to be led back to the light and the only way to do that was to KILL THAT SITH that caused so much rage, revenge, and murder to boil in Mace... Mace tried to kill the Sith just as Luke did... but it was Wrong to do.. .wrong for a Jedi... say what you will.
Anakin tried to save mace by stopping him from doing it just as he stops his son Luke later from doing it..... But he goes to far and Mace loses his hands.. and cannot fight... then it is too late.
I understand Anakins mistakes.
I just LOVvvvvvvvvvvvvvve that scene where Lucas lets
us all know just how LONG Anakin waits to destroy that @% SITH.
20 years.
Read about it. He knows of his son.. and waits for him to grow.
That is in the Lucas approved things...
20 years to fullfill a promise to Padme.
To bring balance... to take his galaxy back.
I know I know meaning well all that....
I know he did wrong in many ways...
HOWEVER...
killing the sith was the RIGHT thing to do at that point
and I always knew he was WAITING for someone to help him after he had lost half his old powers with the loss of his limbs.
I was so happy after ep3 because I got to say told you so so many times!!!!!!
