Okay, I like Star Wars as much as the next guy.
Okay, actually a lot more than the next guy, but whatever.
Was it a glitch in the movie...
aka an ERROR in the scripting when, in ROTJ:
Leia confessed to Luke on Endor (in the Ewok village)
that she remembered her mother, "
She died when I was very young. She was very beautiful,
but she was always... sad".
Leia isn't talking about Padme, her mother... but why would this line be in the movie if it wasn't about Padme, as if it was about Bail Organa's wife,
then it would be completely irrelevant.
So what do you think?
Do you think that it was an error in the scripting, or what?
Just curious as to your thoughts.
Well Lucas
did address this.
Cons and interviews are great places to get information.
Many were confused on this at a con I went to.
But he did explain it.. that day or another Im not sure.
Remember the exact lines.
Luke is asking about his
real mother and what Leia remembers of her.
He doesn't know how Padme died or that she died so soon
.. maybe Leia knew her for a year or two.. he does not know. No one tells him.so Leia says
"She died when I was very young... she was very beautiful.. kind YET sad... why are you asking me this?""I never knew my mother"the lucas Explanation on the writers end...
Leia opened her eyes to her mother when she was born...
padme named her looking in her eyes.
Lucas says that in the force this left an
imprint on Leia and
she remembered her mother out of that one moment.
Like it or not thats what he was saying.Luke said that he never knew his mother.
Look close in ep 3 and you will see that
he never opens his eyes..
Padme names him.. "Luke.. oh Luke..."
But he does not open his eyes..
after birth usually babies do not.
Leia for some reason was a calmer baby..
and she opened her eyes to her mother.
Its rare but in RL it can happen.
Lucas says that this is why Leia was able to say
something about
her mother and Luke was not able to remember anything.
"I never knew her"
It is not bail organas wife that Leia is taking about Luke could care less
about her....
he wanted to know about his real mother because he was going to go
and see his real father... and his real mom is the one Anakin loved.
Luke wanted to know... and also... he did not know if he would
be making it back..
he could have died if anakin had not saved him and killed the sith.
That should help ya.
(It's what Lucas says.)
I know I know...
we all are a bit upset about that scene in ROTJ..
but to Lucas it makes sense.
He gives Jedi some odd powers that others just don't understand.
Leia is strong in the force just like luke.
There is another... and she is it.
