Has anyone been to Ultra's website or ebay store lately? They have a new website that doesn't half work, and almost all his stuff is gone off of ebay. Then, I clicked on his UltraFX link, and they don't even have color choices anymore. He's only selling pre fab stuff. WTF? ?

Yeah, no worries, Ultra just shipped out my Anakin DIY kit 3 days ago. There have been a few changes here and there on the site, and it seems as though they are quite busy.
The other day Ultra had Yoda conversions for presale on the site, and whatnot.
Not sure if it's available yet, but Ultra was also working on a Lux V sound board for his stuff. I'm really interested in this.

On the site it said it was really easy to do, but when i got it and saw the massive instruction leaflet and all the tools you needed it put me off, so its just sitting in my room. Tell me how you got on with it when you do it, and tell me if it was difficult. Maybe you could help me do mine if i get stuck. I just dont wanna start it not really knowing what i am doing. - Dark Anakin

Dark Anakin,
I will be honest with you, Ultra does a great job with his instructions breaking things down "Barney style" for the average user.
It is very easy to follow the instructions. In fact, I had to jury rig one of the tools for widening the set screw hole and still it went off without a hitch. I didn't solder anything, but I used electrical tape to ensure the two leads stayed connected.
When it comes to being mechanically inclined, I'm severely lacking, yet I found this amazingly simple to follow.
Hope that helps.

I hope that i can still get my Obi-Wan converted into a US with a red blade. If not he might've lost my money lulz.

Gotta be careful with those buttons because they scratch easily. You also have to handle the switch with care so you don't rip the wires out of the solder joints on the board. Don't worry though, MR likes to use LOTS of gorilla snot (gooey glue) cover all the solder joints on their boards, so you really gotta jerk on the wires pretty hard to do major damage. I've already had my Ani apart, not much to it really, but make sure you have a parts tray available for the screws and pins, TRUST ME ON THIS! Really, the hardest part is getting the blade pins out. This does involve the use of a hammer and punch, and you have to be careful, because you could damage the blade clash sensor, or the blade if you are re-using it.

Okay Dark Anakin, a small update... The blazing red DIY kit from ultra arrived on my doorstep today about 4:00. It seems that Ultra is now sending the instructions on CD-Rom now instead of paper. Starting from step one of the included instructions, my completion of the saber was noted at 5:45. actual time spent working was about an hour because I took a couple of breaks while soldering. One thing of note is that there are two types of wiring inside the Anakin ROTS: Straight wiring from the blade to the molex connector on the board, and a DIN setup for quick disconnection. If you have the latter, there are a few extra steps that need to be handled, and are not noted in ultra's instruction sheets. The second (DIN) type of blade module requires a little more experience with soldering, because you have to de-solder the clash sensor from the board and resolder it directly into the positve side of the LED wiring. Bad thing is that you won't know what type of blade module you have until you disassemble the saber. I have yet to tap the hole for the blade retention bolt, but that will wait until I get my blade from ultra next week. I will post some pics then if I can get my camera back from my mother... I'll probably start a new thread about it with a full review, because I took this a little off-topic... If you get into a bind with your saber upgrade, pm me and I'll see if I can't help you out! ;D
