a thin walled ultrablade. Is that blade easy to spin on a hilt, like the MR lightsabers?

Yes, you can also order it and have it made a bit shorter too. If he can't handle that, then he's SOL because there isn't anything lighter.

which mr is he using? You want the blade to have a little more weight than the hilt, other wise it will be more difficult to spin as you won't have any counter weight. or just buy the yoda mr and he'll sure be able to spin that one.

We do have a Yoda but we don't intend on dueling with them for they are only for display and part of a collection.

ok, the lightest ones I know of are the MHS stuff from TCSS. Use a thinwalled blade and he'll be set. or the new stunt type hilts from ultra.

If you are going to use a thin walled, I would suggets you use a 3/4 thin walled, your blade will light better. You would need an adapter for the 1 hole to 3/4, but it woudl be worth it. If you are just moderate dueling I think that the thinwalled blade would be fine, but if your going all out you will get some major flexing and lost tips. Thinwalled also stigns to get hit with.

I have a 36 inch thick walled blade right now and it's too heavy for my brother. Can you tell me the pros and cons of a thick walled and thin walled?

well a thin walled is lighter and will light up better, but can't take a beating like the thick walled. thick walled is a little heavier, still lights up bright but the core doesn't look as big. that's about it.
