My Obi-Wan is brighter than my Anakin which was also brand new. Is the technology in the Obi-Wan FX superior to the Anakin ROTS? the LEDs in the blade are exactly the same. the difference is the 'diffuser' in the blade, which surrounds the LED-strip, and "smooths out" the light from each individual LED, blending each one into the next. (think: frosted lightbulb. the diffuser is like the frosting on the inside of a lightbulb, which prevents you from seeing the actual filament) the older blades had crappy diffusers with variations in the density which made dark patches and blotchy spots; the new blades use a finer quality diffuser, which is more uniform in density, absorbs less light, and smooths the individual LED's better than the old diffusers. (net result: smoother, brighter, more uniform color.. from the same LED strip) pics here (w/quote): www.monkeyview.net/id/3302/default/Saber_batt_05.vhtmlwww.monkeyview.net/id/3302/default/Saber_batt_06.vhtml

Acampa, is the Darth Maul double-bladed a good purchase?? Will it last in a duel or should it just be for display?? Just curious.

From what i know, the Maul saber's blade is thicker than a regular FX.

I need to know the difference between theses FX lightsabers. I Saw one for $59.00 then 109.00 and now I see one for 139.000 ect. I don't know which one to get. I'm buying the Mace Windu saber.
Also dose the Mace Windu saber have a good hilt and is it comfortable.
thanks

I think when the market is flooded with a certain fx; the price will vary. I have a mace;and, it's one cool lightsaber. All of you will enjoy this saber.DaJoQuim

(net result: smoother, brighter, more uniform color.. from the same LED strip) here's what the inside of the blade looks like. the foam diffuser is the part that has improved over time. the rest has stayed the same. the old foam had inconsistencies in the density which caused the blotchy spots; the new ones are creamy smooth. and yes the Maul has a thicker-walled outer tube. thats because the full double maul is 8 feet long, and at that length, it has the potential to "wobble" like a fishing rod --> they made the blade double-thick to reduce the wobble. (pleasant side-effect is the single-maul is very sturdy compared to any other single-blade saber)

It is not proven that the Maul's blade is thicker, but the foam diffuser is smaller.

I guess "proven" is a relative term. I'm just going by what the owner of Ultrasabers told me when I asked him the same question directly. click the read his answer. its the first post on the page. www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=5424.90*shrug* I'll take his word for it.
