... and a totally re-done Vader ep.4 FX. The vader isnt oversized and it has 3rd gen system. Sorry for the stupid question but does that mean the Vader will be built to scale? I think it will be close ;but;not at scale. DaJoQuim

I think we can expect MR to "replace" the Vader ESB and anakin ROTS models with the the 2 new ANH sabers.. in more ways than one (heh).
I expect the 2 new ANH models to be EXACTLY the same as the current vader and anakin models, with just cosmetic defferences to tell them apart.
ie: these things are built on an assembly line, and the 2 assembly lines for the current models will probably me switched over (or 'modified') to churn out a slightly different-looking saber.. but the guts of the thing will be the same.
my guess: the new ones will be made on the same production lines as the vaderESB and anakinROTS; the new ANH models will "replace" the 2 current ones; inside the shell of the hilt, the guts of the thing will be identical.
(kinda like when ford changes the look/body-style of a new-model Mustang, but the chassis remains the same as last year)
there is very little difference between a vader ESB and vader ANH, for example. its just a matter of shortening the grips. they WON"t redesign the entire thing from the ground up.. when all thats needed are shorter grips.

I think one other difference between the two vader sabers are the off/on switchs. The vader esb on the bottom. The vader anh on the top. I have both of them.DaJoQuim

Hey, I own Luke RoTJ, Anakin epi.3, and a Maul double bladed.
I do tend to duel with them a lot, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a kind of filler for all the scrathes one can aquire on their blade after awhile.

I don't know of anything that will fix a messed up blade;but;if I was going to do heavy dueling with my saber I would convert mine to a luxeon blade;therefore; there's nothing in the blade to mess up.Just my thoughts my friend.DaJoQuim

The reason you need to dilute the alcohol is because pure alcohol actually melts PolyC. That's actually a low cost way of bonding tips back on. I wouldn't bother at all. There are plastic buffers that are out there. Metal polishes you can pick up at Wally World work too. If you have actual scratches the combo of wet sanding with really high grit sandpapers (800-2000) and a polish is the best solution. There you go, that's from another topic I made a while back posing a similar question.

Ok im wondering if FX lightsabers are good for duels. Me and my friend are considering getting a Vader and ROTS Anikan one. Problem is im scared to dish out 110 dollars and have them shatter into peices. I have one of those lil kid lightsabers which makes like 2 noises and it kinda sucks so I wanted a upgrade.
So I wonder if you guys can help me out?

So I wonder if you guys can help me out? Hi Snongomax!! welcome to the forum!! to answer your question ;some people duel with them and I did some with mine;but; they are not made for dueling. On the other hand if you want a saber for dueling buy an ultra saber. You can buy the stunt saber or the masterreplicas ultra saber with the luxeon blade. This kind of saber costs 198.00 from them or you can buy a saber from e-bay for 75.00 and have it converted to a luxeon from ultra saber for 75.00.The thing about a luxeon saber is the fact there is nothing in the blade itself to mess up;and; the best thing about this is the fact you can detached the blade and wear the hilt on your side!!Or you can buy a stunt saber with no sound for a cheaper price. I hope this helps you. Good luck with your choice!!DaJoQuim

Problem is im scared to dish out 110 dollars and have them shatter into peices. I have one of those lil kid lightsabers which makes like 2 noises and it kinda sucks so I wanted a upgrade. So I wonder if you guys can help me out? Alright I wrote half of this and then I had to go do some stuff and I came back finished a posted not realizing Dajoquim had answered you. So I'm just going leave what I wrote. Shingomax, welcome to the forums and the answer to all your FX questions. We have some incredible people here that literally know everything about lightsabers. So ask away everyone is here to help. Dueling: FX's have durable polycarbonate blades lit within by 64 LEDs that light up sequentially for a power up/down effect just like the movies. MR has a disclaimer that you should never duel with them, but that is just so that when they break they're not responsible for replacement. That being said they are duelable and can handle impact force just not excessive force. When you duel it shoud be choreographed so that you don't accidentally hit the saber too hard creating the excessive force needed to break the saber. The lightsabers were made to be dueled with other lightsabers only and nothing harder! The LEDs are going to be the first thing to break or get knocked loosed leaving you with a dark spot in the blade. If the LEDs are just knocked loose then you can sauter them back in place. When your LEDs or your blade breaks then you must get your saber converted. A conversion is where the 64 LEDs are replaced by a single light, a 3watt Luxeom LED placed inside the hilt. The blade is unglued and a replaced by a stronger thicker walled blade then put back and held in place with a small set screw making the blade replaceable and the hilt wearable as a prop. You lose the power up/down effect since now there is only one light but now you can easily replace scratched or cracked blades. With a conversion you can also duel harder with your saber without damaging the electronics inside the hilt. Thanks for the help. I think I will get a FX saber for now, then I'll probally get one of the one's Dajoquim was talking about, since the hilt can detach it would be nice to have once I get a Jedi costume.
I was noticing Red Five was talking about dueling choreographed. I need to learn how to do that soon, because right now our duels are random insanity.

I would start with a normal stock MR anakin and vader, and then, if/when you break the LEDs, you can always get it converted to Ultrasaber (or even buy the conversion kit and do the work yourself. I think the ultrasaber conversion kit is $45)

Sorry red five!!I did not mean to steal your thunder my friend!!DaJoQuim No, not at all, you didn't...I was worried about if it was alright with you if I still posted. I was the one who took so long to write that's not your problem. By the way good post! You are definitely a favorite on this site. *Red Five bows* p.s. How did you get your name DaJoQuim? I got my name from when I saw Star Wars for the first with my dad and I wanted to be Luke in that X-wing(we watched ANH).

Hi Red five!! It's like this; I told some of my friends at work that I'm going to join a forum and I'm thinking of a name for myself. Well I guess some of the guys were thinking of this and came up with this; why don't you take the first few letters of your first'middle' and last name and when that is done you have DaJoQuim ;which' I added two more letters from my last name to make it sound more like a starwars name.Anyway I some have to watch it sometimes because I've caught myself signing a check with the name DaJoQuim haha.DaJoQuim
