Well, first of all Hi to everyone, im new to this community I received my first FX saber this christmas and i have to say I'm really impressed with it, so impressed that i came to look for a community like this heheh It is a MR Vader saber, which looks awesome, however i have started to practice spinning tricks and it's really hard because of the hilt, also my hands aren't too big so i'm having problems with it. I was considering getting another (probably more in the future, i'm a lightsaberaddict) just for mastering spinning and would like to get advice for some of the masters here I have researched through the boards and found out that the best ones would be Obi Wan and Anakin's... it will be just for spinning, i'm not planning to use them for dueling (for now), and anyway getting one of those ultrasabers here in Spain would be impossible with all the taxes and that stuff :S I also considered the Yoda saber since it's smaller, and since i'm going to practice inside my home most times it would be a good point too. Any help would be greatly appreciated

first of all welcome to the forum mate hope you enjoy yourself ild say that the luke rotj is the best for spinning its light and is a basic lookin hilt (no in and outy bits ) but since MR no longer makes them or any other saber to be onest you should try lookin online like ebay thats really the only kind of way you will get one. Hope you find what your lookin for seeya.

Well, i actually don't buy from MR since i'd get charged a lot for it, instead i buy from a retailer here in Spain which has some nice sabers Looks like the Luke ROTJ is the first on my list, but what about the Yoda one? is it that bad? i mean it's shorter and lighter

To be honest I think it depends on each person, really. Me personally I have both Anakin and Obi-Wan. I think for faster spins you want a considerably light handle, where you get more weight from the blade. Now this is just me and my opinion. I personally find my maul, when its split in half and just using one of the blades to be a great spinner. As the handle is small (even more sense I got giant big hands) when I get it spinnning it just feels like it was meant to be spunt. But hey thats just me. I keep a high grip on it, where the top of my fist is hitting that ribbed flare at teh end as its most narrowest there and allows great forward balance, but again thats just me....

I love spinning the full Maul. Next would have to be the Mace. I hate spinning the Vader's, Luke's and the Obi-Wan FX sabers. The control box just gets in the way. The Maul would be perfect if the knobs where gone.

Actually I was talkin just about a single maul, and that knob thing is annoying. Thats why I took the unnecessary ones off. So much better.

so, luke rotj seems to get the most votes cause its simple hilt, but as i saw on the web it needs 6 AA bateries... which would weight a lot compared to a 3 bat saber, wouldn't it?

I'll agree that the Luke ROTJ saber is an awesome one for spinning. My double-bladed Anakin ROTS saber is kinda cool once you get the hang of it. The grips will kinda get in the way, but once you learn to focus on the coupler, it's got a balanced feel. Same with my Maul sabers. They just feel so balanced.

i have a kenobi ROTS and i don think the control box gets in the way too much, but its all how you spin it, the luke ROTJ doest have the control box so its a smoother spin, only my opinion

I do not own a luke rotj but ive heard it was the best for spinning because of the grip and weight, the obi wan rots he probably the second best for spinning because of the grenade grips lets you have a good hold and its not too heavy at all, the third easiest to spin for me is the anakin rots i have both a obi and ani rots and there both great for spinning
since the luke rotj's are getting harder to find and more expensive i recommend the obi rots you can find them still fairly cheap like for 80 bucks on ebay

I'm finally getting both Luke ROTJ and Yoda (yes, i have lots of money to spend badly ) first for spinning outside and second for inside home I'm have located a site with stock on both sabers, however stock is very low and it looks like once they get sold out no more will come, since i'm buying one now and the other at the end of the month, should i go for the luke rotj first as it seems to be harder to find?
