Hey, my name is Scott. I have been waiting to buy a force fx for years and now I have two. The Yoda ROTS (I love it) and a Luke Skywalker EpIV. I managed to get both for £68.00 and thats including delievery costs aswell. Which according to the current currency rate is just under 136 dollars. I think I got myself a good deal :-)
I now have the chance to buy the Darth Vader Ep4 or Ep5 for cheap, should I buy one and what are the difference?
Thank you :-)
PS Just out of interest how much as everyone spent of their sabers, interested to know :-)

Well congrats on those two sabers. Very good deal indeed. IMO I would say that the Darth Vader sabers are not as different as some people would think. The EP 4 model has shorter grips and the activation clamp is turned at a 45 degree angle, while the EP5 model would have longer grips and the switch box is aligned more properly with the rest of the hilt. The EP 5 model i think is the better one when it comes to doing spinning tricks with. Here is a pic of all 3 of Vader's hilts in the original trilogy. Hope this helps. www.oohyeahzone.com/collection/cb/lightsaber-display-vader-1.jpgEpisode 4 (Bottom) Episode 5 (Middle) Episode 6 (Top) And i probably spent around $800-$900 on my sabers. You can see them at the bottom of my post.

I have the 4 that you see below. Each came from a local movie/collectible store here in town and cost $130.31 USD
So if you got 2 for $136, you basically got 2 for the price of 1. Great deal! ;D

I dunno....I really like my Vader ANH. I think if you only have the Jedi sabers you're really missing out. I have the double Maul also and the Luke ANH. The Vader is quite a lot heavier than your Luke ANH, the motion sounds are clearer than the Luke and Yoda (where they sound slightly fuzzy for some reason) and although there's only one clash sound there are more motion sounds. I like the solid build of the hilt, and most of all the deeper more menacing idle hum of the sith sabers. For the price that play.com are doing them mate (£34.99 when I checked a few days ago) just get one, you won't be disappointed. Personally I've paid £39 for the vader and luke, and £79 for the double Maul but so what? That's less than my ipod cost in total!

I must admit I'm very tempted. I might get one. I do love the sound of the hum off a sith saber. However, I may go down to my local Gamestation (UK game store) and see if they still have some single bladed Darth Mauls left.
If it goes down to £34.99 again I may buy it, or should I just buy it now?

Okay, it is done. I have ordered Darth Vader ANH. I hope it's good I've heard good things about this saber.
That means I will have three sabers
Yoda ROTS Luke Skywalker ANH Darth Vader ANH
And I got all three for £109.97. Cheaper than buying myself an Ipod and it includes delievery :-)

I love it! It's now my favourite :-) I just love it. I love the idea of having both Sith and Jedi sabers.

Well, I'm willing enough to not like the Vader to trade it along with other stuff for a Dooku lux!

Fair enough mate, the dooku is unique after all.
Be sure to post pictures when you get it!
