What models seem to be affected by this issue? I know the Luke Skywalker ANH does (and I know my does creak slightly sometimes) but are there other models it affects?
I've heard it affects Obi Wan's sometimes? Is that true?
My Vader ANH and Yoda ROTS have never made any creaky noise and generally seem alot better put together.
From looking at videos, my Luke ANH doesn't creak no where near as bad as some peoples. I don't use my Luke for spinning etc because I'm scared of damaging the blade. I was wondering if theres much you can do about the creaking? Someone recommended sending it to UltraSabers but to tell you the truth, I don't want it "modded" too much, as I mainly bought it as a collectable.
Thanks for reading

Thanks for reading my vader anh creaks when i swing it but only when i jerk it a bit p.s on my vader anh sabre the power switch is not directly underneath where the blade oval curves is it meant to be like this?

My Vader ANH doesn't creak at all. My Luke one does sometimes when I jerk it suddenly. Yes, it's the same as mine. The power switch is on the side of the saber's hilt. This is correct, on the Vader ESB saber, the switch is underneath the saber black curve bit. I presume that Vader makes some changes to his hilt in between ANH and ESB. Hope that helps

the creaky noise comes from plastic-on-plastic contact where the blade joins the hilt.
the part that holds the blade on the luke anh is plastic --> creaking noise if/when the blade wobbles with respect to the hilt.
by comparison, the emitter on the obiwan is a big honking metal hockey puck --> no creaking noise.
afaik, the luke anh is the only one that shows this problem.
the rest have metal to hold the blade; except for the vader(s) which have a cushion of rubber. (yes rubber).
(so if the blade wobbles you don't hear it) (heh).

If you want to fix the problem, which no one has bothered to give advice on, my idea is get a little bit of glue (more rubberish glue, something that's soft when dried) and use a syringe or anything that could get you to the base of the blade, give it some glue and see if that prevents it from wobbly/ creaking syndrome. It won't effect the light either because it's a string of leds, not just one. If anyone else has an idea, post it.......

Thank Cobalt60 for the information. Personally, it doesn't bother me too much as I use my Luke Skywalker ANH as a collectable and to basically keep on the shelf to be looked at, not swung around like my other two.
Thank you Chase for the advice. Like I said, I doubt I will do that because I want to keep it as a collectable.
Does this "plastic on plastic" rubbing cause any long term damage to the blade?

no, it just makes a noise. the other blades wobble too but you just don't hear anything. -===- maybe hasbro will improve the design with more metal parts when they take over the forceFX line. luke anh is one the models that hasbro already announced.

My yoda used to creak, but nothing too noticeable with the blade powered up. I expected my Luke ANH to creak but it doesn't, although you can feel something moving around within the hilt if you really give it a good swing.

Really? My Yoda nevers creaks or anything. It's (in my opinion) one of the most sturdy sabers you can buy.

I quite liked it, however it blew an LED for no reason so I sent it back. If it had been any other saber I would've used that as an excuse to do a lux conversion on it, but with the yoda you're sorta stuck if an LED goes pop, at least for the moment anyway.

Alright I am a little confused can someone tell me what is the creaking? Like how does it sound like. (a youtube vid would be nice.) because I get weird noises coming out of the voice thing. how is the blade involved with the sound box/battery compartment? I would like to know which is which.

My new Yoda creaks as well. It has since it came out of the box. Looks like plastic on plastic is the cause here as well. I don't anticipate that this will be a problem though, from what I hear these Yoda's can take quite a beating.
