***Prop Story***
“General Kenobi, years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars…” - Leia Organa, Senator of Alderaan
In the years since the onset of the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi has become a Jedi Master serving as a General in the ongoing war against the Separatists.
In this climactic Star Wars movie, Obi-Wan Kenobi is armed with a new lightsaber - built when he ascended to the Jedi Council. Since this new weapon represents the one used by Obi-Wan in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
A year after the release of Episode III, Master Replicas brings us the Force Fx version of General Kenobi's Lightsaber.
The attention to detail is stunning, and the only thing making it look less authentic than the LE is the fat neck, which can also be found on the Luke ROTJ FFX. Apart from that, it's a true piece of art, mixing chrome, polished aluminium, black metal, brass paint and gold accents.
In the final duel on Mustafar, Obi-Wan is confronted to his former apprentice and friend, Anakin Skywalker. This battle is one of the most exciting fight scenes in Episode III.
When compared side by side, both lightsabers have the same level of quality, with two gorgeous and shiny hilts.
As you will notice from the photos, blade color and brightness is EXACTLY the same on both sabers.
Both were running on two fresh sets of Energizer Ultimate, in a well lit room, on a blue floor.
Sounds are the same Jedi sounds used and re-used by MR, and quite similar to Anakin ROTS.
Overall, this is a truly great saber. It offers a bright and evenly lit blade, not brighter than Anakin ROTS though, but still very blue and pleasant to look at. The hilt is quite heavy, but certainly one of the best ever made in terms of quality and look. This lightsaber would make a fantastic addition to any collection, especially next to an Anakin ROTS.
