Does anyone own an Initiate saber for children seen on ultrasabers.com? I am considering buying one for my little brother so I can teach him to use a lightsaber. If anyone owns one or has used or seen one, can you tell me a little bit about it? Thanks!! ;D

I must preface that I am not bagging on Ultrasabers and definitely like their products. However, I am the type of person who would rather have a brutal review than a flowery one that over-hypes a certain product. With that said, we use the Initiate sabers for out Dueling Club on campus, the sabers are OK to use but are definitely made for small hands, there is a bump where the on/off switch is that makes the saber difficult to spin properly without it poking into your palm. The batteries get loose easily so you should tape them before using. The handle is plastic with a grippy spray on them. I recommend that you buy some cloth tape to make it more grippy as when the saber gets slippery from sweat, it can slide out of your hand with disastrous results. The blade itself is a good size for a child similar to that of a gladius. The blade is very bright and can be used in daytime without much washout. I must say that the tip may fly off so you should watch you brother when he uses the saber. One of our tips flew off out of the dozen or so we bought so they are quite hardy but not infaliable.
