Hello all!
I have a question regarding the (now discontinued) Master Replicas FX Sabers.
My first lightsaber was an Anakin Skywalker one bought over a year ago - I love it (especially when the electricity was cut off in the stairwell to my flat - it made a great torch ;D ).
Yesterday I received a Luke Skywalker IV and a Darth Vader IV saber from Play.com for a great price (£37.99 each). I almost shed a tear when holding the Luke saber...something I had wanted since the age of 7 was now in my hands!
I was originally thinking of keeping them both boxed up as an investment. However, after checking them to make sure they work...I'm tempted to keep them for myself...lol.
My question - will these models go up in value over time? If so, I'll keep them stored away and maybe get another two for display/waving around. However maybe they're so common that it's not worth keeping them for 'investment' purposes?
Any thoughts or opinions would be much appreciated.

as with other models, they will most likely go up in value after the supply is gone and the retail channels run out of stock. other models usually climb to ~$200USD, and thats about as high as they go.
in mid-november Hasbro will release their line of FX sabers; it remains to be seen if the Hasbro FX sabers will drive up the collectors value of the "original" Master Replicas brand.. or if they will simply flood the market with "the same" product and this will drive down the value of the originals.
I would think, after the Hasbro line is released, then the Master Replicas brand would be worth more as a collectible.

Wow ... $37.99 EUR each sounds like a great deal. That's less than $50 USD per item with free shipping in the UK! I just bought the same two Force FX sabers here in the US, and even after my 30% cashback from Live.com's eBay promotion, they still cost me $66.50 and $77, plus $27 combined shipping. Wish I could find some at your prices! I went to Books a Million the other day and they had a few Force FX sabers ... they were selling the Luke IV for $150. Give me a break.

Just to point out - on Play.com they're currently £37.99 GBP not €37.99 EUR. Still very good value though! I just wish they had some Mace Windu models still in stock...

Looks like I spoke too soon - they've just increased the price to £69.99 each. Glad I got mine when I did
