Story: I got this lightsaber for free since originally I ordered Vader's ESB Lightsaber. The store I ordered it sent ANH version because ESB versions were sold out. I emailed the store about it and they gave me the money (plus shipping costs) back so I was very lucky with this. And then the review. The hilt is in my opinion very beautiful and accurate to the original prop. It's mostly chrome and it's heavy weight gives the hilt a realistic feel. Like most FX Sabers, this one uses 3 AA batteries and at full batteries, the blade looks nice, especially in dark. In bright daylight though, it doesn't look that impressive. The idle hum, swing sounds and clash sound are very well made, but then again, there's only one clash sound so that left me somewhat disappointed. I was disappointed also with the sound when you turn this Lightsaber on: it's completely different from the sound Vader's lightsaber has in the movies. After all, this is a nice saber and if you can find a right price, it's definitely worth buying.

Congrats mate! I too have this saber, and it is a beauty, much cooler than the ESB in my opinion. I also have an Anakin RotS as well, but I think that Vader's hilts are much cooler looking than Anakin's. Anakin has the coolest looking Jedi hilts and Vader has the coolest looking sith hilts. It makes me want to get out my Vader ANH, but sadly I don't have time, I gotta leave for work in half an hour........ Its weird that these originally came from camera flash handles!!!!
Also, is that the Kotobukiya Vader statue? I have the Dark Anakin one, but sadly i accidentally broke off the saber. Thats the thing with star wars maquettes and statues, they all come with chinsy looking translucent lightsaber blades that A) Look quite tacky, and B) Seem to be really brittle. I accidentally snapped the blade when I was trying to get it out of the hilt.

I got it last summer and I think it's accurate to the actual Vader armor and it's very cool. Bad thing about it though, is that the statue needs something to support it's standing because otherwise it would fall backward (you can se two playing card decks behind it in the picture).

The other cool thing about the Vader ANH 07 is the fact that it is the only FX that is the proper size. Its EXACTLY the same size as the LE (Limited Edition), and the LE is IDENTICAL is every way to the original prop used. Another reason why I think that this is the best FX made so far. The only problem that I have with it really is the fact that it has a lot of plastic on it. I know the shroud is supposed to be plastic but the embellishments on the shroud, i.e the knobs and bolts and things, are also plastic. Apart from that, it is the best FX so far, but if you want a saber to duel with, the luke ANH seems the best.
