Hi all,
Thanks to this site and some great reviews and YouTube videos by folks here, I finally bought a Force FX Saber this past week (actually, I bought three ... the other two just haven't arrived yet).
The first one to come in was the Luke ROTJ led-version. This is the only one I bought from a private seller (bought them all on eBay thanks to Live.com's current 30% cashback offer for Buy it Now auctions) and not an actual authorized store. He assured me it had never been dueled with and was just kept on display in his home (link to auction). In the pictures and videos I've taken, it looks fantastic. The camera's sensitivity to light makes it look like it glows much brighter along the center than it actually does with more of a white hue than a totally green one, but that's to be expected.
What I'm disappointed in is the variance of color going down the blade. Up close to it, or looking down the length of it, there are rings of color where it is slightly lighter or darker than the area next to it. I'll try and get a picture tonight showing it.
This doesn't seem like the "dark spots" people have been talking about - just seems like small variances in intensities of the LED's as you go up the blade. Is this normal?
Don't get me wrong, I still like it and I'm looking forward to my Luke and Vader ANH blades getting here. I'm just hoping their coloring is a little more consistent.
You can get three MR sabers at 60% of the cost of one saber from Hyperdyne Labs, but I'm already pining a bit for one of his blades instead of these Master Replicas ones.
Thanks for any feedback.

(on a completely unrelated note, this forum software is giving me some major deja vu ... I'm curious if the name "Dave Baughman" is listed at the bottom of the admin control panel in the credits section, whoever the admin here is).
Got looking around a little and found this extremely helpful post here: forcefx.proboards43.com/index.cgi?board=mr&action=display&thread=2680&page=2#41976
Looks like the diffuser technology wasn't nearly as up to snuff back when they made the ROTJ. That actually makes me feel better about my purchase. I'd rather know they're all like that instead of thinking I might have gotten a bum unit.
Though the green blade has always been my favorite, so I'm sure one of these days I'll cave and buy the HyperdyneLabs version ... it just looks to perfect.
I'm curious, can you disassemble these older units and put the diffuser foam from new units into them? Was thinking maybe I could buy an FX saber that has a lot of dark spots and broken LED's for cheap, and then rob the diffuser out of it and put it into my ROTJ saber.
Thanks!
