anakin AOTC was more fragile than the others. even with no LEDs in the blade. you will be lucky to find one that still works. the problem is the electronics, not the blade. the most common failure is the sound. many of these sabers will light up, but the sound will not work. even those "still sealed in the box". I bought one which was sealed in its original box and the sound did not work. after much research I found this was a common problem with this model. if you are looking for a collectible to display on the wall, or as an investment, to keep sealed in its box for ten years to increase its "collectors value" .. then this is the saber for you. but if you want a saber you can actually duel with and actually "USE", then you should stay away from it. it is strictly a collector's piece. luke ROTJ is also a good collector's choice because Hasbro is not making this one. also its the only full sized 'GREEN' saber they ever made. (the only other green saber was yoda). this is (also) a good one to keep sealed for ten years because it will always have good collector's value. the luxeon-converted anakin has no collector's value, but it has the added benefit of being "functional". if you want a saber that will stand up to daily abuse, and can be used for hard dueling, then this is your best choice.

make sure the sound still works before you buy the anakin AOTC maybe he can put batteries in and test it before you buy. "no sound" is a VERY common problem with anakin AOTC

i don't think so, i think since it is the very first fx that they had some problems in the electronics that made the sound mess up.
