LAJedi Saber Building Seminar and Workshop (free to all 1-24-09)
LA Jedi’s first ever saber building workshop will be held on Saturday, January 24th at 2:oopm!! (At the Rancho Palms park 2920 Overland Avenue Los Angeles, 90064 )
Goodman and DaveBarJedi will be featured saber builders. The first half of the seminar will teach you the basics of saber construction, showcase common components, and compare
popular LEDs and blade types. The second half will be an open workshop where you are invited to bring your sabers for conversion or at least watch other people do so.
If you want to just watch and learn, just bring yourself (and a friend!)
If you want to convert, upgrade, or build a saber, YOU MUST REGISTER before 1/16/09. This is to ensure we have adequate materials for everyone. To register, please PM me with your
name, what saber you are bringing, and what you want to do to it, or if you want to build one from scratch. You will then receive a PM with a recommended parts list. You can either
bring the parts yourself, or PM me before 1/16/09 and we will order it for you.
It is very important to register because even though we will have some spare parts available, if you don't register, there is no guarantee there will be enough parts for everyone.
The workshop is free to everyone, both LAJedi members and the general public. Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Bring $5 for lunch (best pizza place in
LA). """

Oh wow! I would have LOVED to have been able to go to this workshop! Unfortunately I just now heard about it, about three or four days late, and I live on the East Coast! So, how did it go? Was there a good turnout?

Kit, I have to say I was more than honored to have donated what I could for the seminar.
You and Goodman need to make sure to get ahold of me the next time you have one, so I can see about donating some things to use as door prizes, and maybe some more materials to be used for building sabers, and whatnot. ;D
I am currently working on some step by step tutorials in PDF form, that I can send on a DVD-Rom that may or may not include some videos.
You guys rock!
