I am very interested in custom and unique sabers and I heard about them in another thread and so I checked out their website, and their stuff looks pretty good. However, I would like to know if anyone in these forums has purchased from them. If so, how was the experience? Linky... www.saberforge.com/Thanks guys!

Never heard of them. They seem like pretty good quality but I'm not sure about LED brightness, that's always really hard to determine from both videos and pictures. I quite like the windowed sabers though...

Indeed, there are some beautiful hilts there, but I hesitate to buy without some input from someone who has actually purchased from them. After all, when you combine hilt, blade, and soundboard for any given saber, it's like $220 minimum. That's a significant investment. However, it does look like a great way to get a unique saber and I am strongly considering a purchase. But I would love to hear from anyone who has purchased one, so I could be reassured of their quality/service. After all, I'm still waiting for a saber I ordered from ultrasabers.com last week and I am hesitant to drop yet another couple of C-notes on my nerdy hobby. Update: On the positive side I asked a question of them through the email on their site, and they responded in an hour, and that was fairly late in the evening yesterday, so they outwardly appear to have excellent service! Update to the update: I've been in communication with the staff at Saber Forge(they respond very fast!) and I am becoming more assured about these guys by the second. Here's a bit more info I got in my correspondence: -They are fairly new (less than a year old) -For batteries they use 4 AAA's or if you get the soundboard they use the same battery modules as in Hasbro sabers. -Prices for a "full" saber ( electronics, sound, and blade) run from about 185-255

Ive actually been looking at buying a Asharad Hett saber from them for awhile. I cant decide, but for the moment im saving for a similar to palpatine replica, the only difference being the top of the emitter shrowd going missing so i can fit a 1" polycarb blade in. Well, from what ive seen. They have a very nice, and i mean very nice selection of sabers. And from what i hear they are very reliable.

As stated in my previous post I've been in contact with the good folks over at SaberForge, and I get the same impression as Master Fisto. I think I'm going to get one, you guys can expect a review as soon as I get it.

I should let you know, if you don't already, that this guy does custom orders. He might be able to make a Palpatinesque saber! Any way, I bought my saber yesterday. I went for one of the windowed sabers, the Staunch Defender, in royal blue, with sound upgrade. So now I have two custom sabers just waiting for me out there some where lol. Also I am getting very close to the first major goal in my self-improvement program, meaning I'll "unlock" my Hasbro Obi for those of you who want a review

I'm saving up so I can't spend my money. Anyway, that sounds like a wicked saber, I love Palp's hilt. I'm, of course, looking forward to pics and reviews of each and every saber.

lol, let's just say I finally got my first real professional job about 9 months ago, and since I'm currently not invested, the economic slow-down hasn't really hit me. I still have grad school ahead of me, but for the time being I have some discretionary funds to play with. I can't wait to write the review. I wish you luck with your saving Lex, I have been saving most of my income sa well, but what I don't save has been going to the sabers ;D

I purchased a saber from saberforge, they responded to email very quickly before I actually purchased one. so I decided to buy one, paid for it on Jan 6th received it on Jan 13, The saber itself is very nice looking nice finish and a great design but When I got it it was not working I emailed them back and he said to ship it back and he would fix it (he should have tested it before shipping), so on top of the $290.00 I spent for it I had to pay $10.00 to send it back(Jan 13 sent priority usps). more than a week went by without a word so I email them (Jan 19) to ask about it and got no response, emailed again on Jan 22 again to check on the progress got an email back on Jan 25 saying it will be fixed and sent back this week, I still had not received by Jan 30 so I emailed again to check for a tracking number and got no response, now I am getting tired of waiting so I emailed again on Feb 1 to tell him that it has been a month sense I paid for it and I am getting tired of waiting, well today is Feb 3 and still no response and no saber, tried to call the number listed in the paypal account but got no answer except to tell me that the voicemail box is full. I am not an impatient person if he is having problems and has been busy that would be OK but at least email me and let me know. I will keep you posted if I get it or if I have to FORCE (pun intended) a refund through paypal.
UPDATE; Well it's Feb 4 and still no saber or email, tried to call but got no answer except to tell me that the voice mailbox is full, I'm not sure what I am going to do, I liked the saber and I still want it but I don't want to get stuck losing $300.00
Update: its Feb 6th and still no saber or email, the guys been selling them on ebay and has been shipping them out so I do believe he is just ignoring me and doesn't back his product, I'm going to give him a couple more days than I will contact paypal.

It's a shame that some people have had negative experiences with Phil and his Saberforge business. I just had a great experience with Saberforge. I ordered a polished Venom style saber with red LED and sound board. Phil was quick to respond to all my email inquiries and requests for progress updates. It took 4 weeks from the time I placed the order to the time it arrived at my doorstep. This is my first saber so I have no real basis for comparison, but I am an aerospace hardware engineer so I know when something is put together right. This saber's form, fit, and finish is very good and I was even impressed with the workmanship on the electronics. The soldering was neat and clean (I'm NASA standard solder certified) and great care was given to every detail. The saber was packaged well and arrived undamaged. The only complaint that I can muster is that there was still a little bit of polishing paste (very very small quantity) that got on my hands when I messed around with the saber for the first time. I took a microfiber cloth and wiped it off the hilt. No problems since. Based on my experience, I would recommend saberforge to other people. I think that there might be better looking blades on the market but the one that came with my Venom is fine for dueling. I plan on ordering another saber for my son because he happened to fall madly in love my Venom upon seeing it for the first time. ;D
