I have been wanting to take the blade off my MR Luke ANH Lightsaber.
is this possible? I really don't mind if the removal is permanent. I would rather just have the hilt.

Well, there's not a neat way of removing the blade, but if you were willing to have a functioning removable blade then i would recommend ultrasabers, i myself purchased the Anakin ROTS and its a perfect conversion!
Ultra is a very good sabersmith and well worth the extra money
