I would have force pulled Obi-wan in that lava and that would have been the end of him. I would have never jumped to try and kill obi-wan i just force pull his arse into that dang lava.

firstly when obi-wan was fighting maul, maul didn't expect that from obi-wan, he was (as posted) over confident especially after killing a jedi master he felt a padawan was no threat. with anakin he felt that he was so powerful that he could attack obi-wan in that way, though obi-wan knew it was coming.anakin tried that way just to try and show obi-wan that he didn't care what kind of advantage he had he was gonna kill him. i agree obi-wan failed he was suppossed to kill anakin. anakin caught fire because of how close he was to the lava.the fire went out possiably cause anakin used the force to put it out. i don't think obi-wan had it in him to actually kill him, he left him for dead, yes he could have easily force pushed him into the lava..one thing about your statement i don't agree with is that obi-wan did show emotion when he was like " you were my brother i loved you" he looked close to tears. the points that were made are good ones

Only thing I can say is that if Obi-Wan would have killed Anakin, there would be no Episode IV. No Episode IV equals no Star Wars back in 1977. No Star Wars means we wouldn't be on here right now. So, I'm guessing it's a good thing Obi-Wan never killed Anakin at the end of ROTS.

Thx for all the responses. But im still not convinced. I can get about maul and about how it was made that way (which is still stupid but whatever) but certain things im still scetchy about. Expecially about the fire thing and why obi wan didnt just kill Anakin. quote] Obi Wan couldn't kill Vader because a Jedi cannot strike down and kill an unarmed opponent. Once a Jedi's enemy is down the code forbids them to kill, the battle is over. That is why Anakin says to Windu "its not the Jedi way" when he goes to kill an unarmed Sidious. The Jedi code FORBID'S A Jedi to kill a fallen opponent. - Lord Vader II

its not against the code to kill its against the code to kill an unarmed opponent. thats why anakin didnt want to kill dooku. and if he had killed anakin how would there have been darth vader?
