Hey gang,
So, I asked this question in another post, but I'm guessing that no one replied because it was in the body of the post and not in the Subject heading.
My Obi-Wan ANH saber is still truckin', even after some heated squabbles. However, I've noticed a rattle in the blade near the hilt, and the blade itself wobbles a bit. It still functions perfectly, but if it goes belly up someday, I'd like to be able to get it fixed.
However, the impression I get from browsing the forums here and perusing other saber websites is that NO third party conversions/upgrades keep the extension/retraction effect that the LED's make possible. Is this true?
I'd be sad if that were the case because, IMHO, it's the absolute coolest thing about FX sabers other than their sound and quality of manufacture.
Are there no websites that offer replacement LED strings?
Much as I'd like to do some more intense dueling, I'm not about to risk what I think is the single best feature of the product by subjecting my sabers to further action.
I'm definitely interested in acquiring some duel-worthy sabers in the future (especially when my cash flow will permit it), but I was wondering if I'm restricted to custom pieces that don't have this feature.
