Oh that makes so much more sense. But If Sifo couldn't be turned, don't you think he would have enough time to warn the Jedi before Palpitine had Tyranus turn and kill Master Dyas?

Sifo Dyas was a different character altogether than Count Dooku. Sifo Dyas' blood was used in the creation of General Grievous. Sifo Dyas isnt as much as a mystery as he once was. Follow this link and you will find out all the facts about Sifo Dyas. starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sifo_Dyas - Dark Anakin

Besides Dooku isn't even really a Sith he's a Dark Jedi. Oh, on the contrary, Dooku most definately became a Sith Lord. Sifo Dyas was; much like Dooku, a prominent member of the Jedi order (he was Dooku's apprentice), but Palpatine did indeed find a weakness in Dyas in order to manipulate him for his own domineering ends - the ability to see the future. I have a feeling that Palpatine's mastery of the dark side allowed him to flood a precognitive Jedi's mind with a possible future through some sort of meditative means. Im pretty sure he used the same method on Anakin in regards to his dreams showing his mother, and then Padme' dying.. to gain a hook on him. So back to Dooku. It takes a break down of morality for a Jedi to taste the dark side and then be put in a position where it beckons to them. Just like Anakin was given a first taste when he slaughtered all the Sand People in a rage, and then much later when he beheaded Dooku as an act of revenge for losing his right hand. Each time such a decision was followed through, the further the Jedi slipped... I think Palpatine had an easier task with Dooku as he was already disenchanted with the ways of the Republic and was cynical about the Jedi's role in the galaxy. There was the open door.. I suppose the final act that pushed Dooku to darkness was murdering his friend and former pupil, Sifo Dyas. That alone perhaps could have even been his ultimate trial to becoming a Sith Lord as there are trials to undertake, but either way, this cemented Dooku's step into the dark side. He was then given the guise of Darth Tyranus which meant that he was a Sith Lord. He just kept this fact from the Jedi and played the whole Seperatist card for the whole galaxy to lap up as a recruiting tool for his forces. Other planets were fed up with the Republic too just as he was, so he used this to his advantage to allow the then fledgling Confederacy of Independant Systems to gain momentum. Even so, I doubt Dooku himself knew of the grand scale and entire scope of Palpatine's plans for total dominion. Unlike the relationship between a Jedi Master and Padawan, the Sith have little trust that exists between Master and Apprentice.. one will always emerge a victor in the end, but to be effective, there needs to be two. Have more, and all out war will commence. Palpatine was overly selfish and immensely power hungry, as all Sith are; and thus, would use his apprentice until they are worthless. Maul unfortunately did not outlive his uses, whilst Dooku was replaced with a younger, more powerful apprentice. Unfortunately, the loss of nearly all limbs, severely reduced Darth Vader's force potential. I am sure the Emperor either foresaw this as a guarantee that his power would not be seized in the future by Vader, or it kept Vader in the Emperor's thrall for far longer than he would have enjoyed should he have reached his full potential - which would have no doubt been a threat for Palpatine. Even then, when Palpatine saw the chance to recruit Luke Skywalker as another apprentice, he was perfectly willing to sacrifice Vader. So I have no doubt in what you referred to earlier interms of one hand not knowing the actions of the other. In the bottom line, Sidious / Palpatine was playing both sides competely and utterly. I doubt even Jango Fett realised that he would have been fighting against his own clones should he have survived. He was probably under the impression that they were being made for the Seperatists... in either sense - he was another pawn. All up, its one hell of a grand scheme. Palpatine is a hateful bastard, but I certainly admire what he cooked up.
