well, i was watching that movie over, and i couldn't really find anything that could give this movie a decent movie ( in star wars standards) and it just doesn't give me a good feeling when i have to watch it.
I'm not saying that that ANH is bad, but i am saying that it is the worst of the series.

Wow, what can I say to this?
There are no words...
One of the greatest films of all time, a boring movie? I cannot agree with that logic.
It has plenty of action, drama, comedy, and was a ground breaking achievement. Let's just nevermind the fact that Star Wars sold out every seat in the house back in 1977 and has become a worldwide success.
Face it, it it weren't for the fact that Star Wars was state of the art entertainment, that went WAY over budget in 1976 (Low budget compared to today's films), we would not have a lot of the films we have to date.
Almost every big budget blockbuster movie that hits theaters owes it's respect to Star Wars. Without ANH, there would be no Industrial Light and Magic, and without that, no big buck special effects as we know them today.
The movie had it's lacking points, but to call it boring is nearing blasphemous intent. Compared to the ferocity of the lightsaber batles in the two following films, and the Prequels, I can see where that logistic thought pattern would stem from though.
Star Wars has CAPTIVATED audiences for 30 years, and 30 Years from now I am assured that it will continue to do so.

I can't say it any better than Morbius did. I love the movie as much today as I did in the theater 30 years ago. To prove the point, my nieces and nephews love it as well..and not a visit goes by that I don't hear the words, "Can we watch the first Star Wars?" ;D

We all have our own "Certain point of view" and we are entitled to that. Some enjoy the prequels, others enjoy the OT. That's all there is to it. Those of us that grew up with the OT would cry blasphemy at calling our beloved Star Wars boring! ;D

ANH is EP4, not EP5. For those of you who don't know Roman Numerology, that'd be IV, not V.
Pertaining to the topic, though, its rare that I find a SW movie boring. Of course, I don't watch them too often because they will get boring, but thats just me. Of all of the movies, I find that ESB is the most boring to me, if I had to choose one.

I'm not saying I dislike them. However i'd have to say my least favorites are tied between ANH and ESB. ANH due to crappy lightsaber effects, and ESB because I found the whole Degabah thing with Yoda, boring.

I think that ANH really benefited from the totally gripping music from Sir Williams.

ANH is one of those few movies that never age. I mean, when you look at film conventions, you can generally guess when the film was made (look at "Forbidden Planet" or "Last Starfighter"). The dialogue, costumes, grain on the film, saturated lighting, and so on all place the film in somewhere in time.
ANH became the new sci-fi benchmark because it distanced itself from established sci-fi norms. I think that's why the original trilogy is still so popular today. I also think that ANH provided the inspiration for all those successful TV clones of the 80's from Glen Larson and the like.
I laugh now when I see the original Star Trek, it's just sooooo typical of that time period (they used Brylcreme in the 23rd century???). Maybe I'm too biased, but I fail to see how ANH can be described boring.

I dont think that any of the movies can really be classed as boring, though i think younger fans can have a problem with OT simply because the movies are less visually engaging.

Each film is amazing to me, with RotS standing out the most as it is my favourite film of all time, so it is impossible for me to decide which out of the films are the most boring because I don't get bored watching any. In my opinion they are the best films ever made.......
