i have tried to get a video into photoshop to add in the lightsaber effects but i can't open the video in photoshop. it says it's the wrong program type or something. any help would be great. Thanks. ;D

you cant open a video in photoshop. WHat you have to use is some edditing program, like premier and export it out as a filmstrip. You can then open it up in photoshop as a bunch of pictures strung together

thanks for the help. ;D i exported it into photoshop and it came out in a bunch of pictures 8 by a lot. Lol. i used the polygonal lasso and then filled it in with white. i tried to use Gaussian blur but it came up with a message and it said something about the scratch disk being full. i think my computer either doesn't have enough memory or the graphics card isn't good enough.

no prob man. You could try a shorter scene, it might help.

i recommend after effects for rotoscoping....much easier than photoshop although photoshop is good for photos

If you're going to rotoscope filmstrip files in Photoshop. I highly recommend that the video clips you convert to filmstrips be no morre than 10 seconds in length. This will make things easier for file sizes, rendering times and memory usage.
