I just have a question i have been pondering lately. How do you get your lightsaber to look so good. I have been looking around lately, and have been seeing so many nice looking lightsabers in pictures. Do you guys use a type of polish or something, whats the secret?

I guess I have the habit of wiping my saber down with a polish rag everytime I handle it.

As for if I put anything on my saber to polish it no I don't.The reason for me taking a polish rag and wiping it is to take off the oil that my hands may have on it. As for my name it came from the peeps that I work with. The first two letters of my first and second name and the first four letters of my last name.

I agree with Dajo,
Each time after handling my sabers, I wipe them down with tissues (as they are soft and will not scratch the surface). Ofcourse the exception is my Luke Skywalker ROTJ which is a machined metal finish.
Also when I handle my chromed sabers (Anakin ROTS and Vader ANH '07), I do so wearing white cotton gloves. This significantly prevents skin oil residue from forming on the surface of the hilt, keeping it exquisitely shiny!

I really am not so paranoid about my sabers (even though I have 13). I just pick them up with my bare hands. They're just toys...

Expensive toys and labours of love, hence I treat them accordingly. You dont have to answer, but how many of your 13 sabers did you pay for yourself? Each of mine were paid for out of my own pocket which helps to appreciate their value if you know what I mean I also think, the fact you can't readily buy them here in Australia makes them that much more precious to me.

If you want to get dirt off or just some minor scuffs, get a fine grit sanding block, it will give it some shine. Sabers will get scuffed or dirty if you play with them, it is inevitable.....Mine have huge gouges and marks in them, but I like it, it makes them look used.

My Maul came complete with a nice scuff mark on the blade about 6" long... Does anyone know what sort of polish I could use to remove the scuff that won't damage the polycarbonate?

A scuff or gouge in a blade could be taken care of with sanding it down. If you actually plan on using the saber, don't even worry about it. If the scuff is too deep, then theres not much you can do with it.

The scuff isn't deep at all, but it is quite noticeable when the blade is powered up. I won't be duelling with it so it's really just for cosmetic reasons that I'd like to polish it out.
