*If there was one thing the Mandalorians as a whole could be called, it was survivors. Even if it was in low numbers, the Mandalorians always survived in some way, shape, or form.
As it currently stood, the Mandalorians had their home sector plus one world. Well, to be honest, it was a moon, but many recognized it as a world in its own right. Dxun was the fortress planet of the Mandalorians, and had been for centuries, even if there was only a squad or two of warriors placed on it.
Currently, there was far more than a single squad of warriors based on Dxun. While still too small to be called an army, the force of Mandalorians on Dxun was larger than any that had been seen in a long while. The war machine was moving again...shipyards strategically placed in orbit churned out fighters and small capital ships, and Mandalorians came in small packs every few weeks. Many of them were established warriors, but there were new recruits, needing to be trained.
Still, the bulk of the Mandalorians continued to at least appear to freelance, but always poured a little bit of their money into the operation. That money generally went towards supplies and other things, but some of it went towards the construction of larger capital ships, which was taking place in the Mandalore system, which had been locked down tight. Other than Mandalorians, none got out of the system itself.
Everything was taking place in secret. The shipyards above Dxun were placed at the point of minimal visibility, in that one spot of shadow caused by the sun and Onderon itself. The shipyards themselves were black, to help with the hiding...the Mand'alor knew that until they had a large enough force, they couldn't show themselves to the galaxy just yet.
Tracyn Ordo was currently the Mand'alor, and he alternated between Mandalore and Dxun on a somewhat regular basis. He was a conniving warrior, and a scholar, and had a strong moral code. For now, the Mandalorians were in good hands, though when he died or passed the kyr'bes along, people weren't sure. He had yet to choose a successor, and though he had plenty of time, others started wondering what he was doing waiting so long to name a chosen successor.
During the recent wars, the Mandalorians had virtually disappeared except as bounty hunters, most of them sticking to their farms and smithies; the better to stay alive. It was only once the Sith were eliminated - or so the Galaxy thought - that they had once again started to venture forth.
Meanwhile, Tracyn plotted, planned, and trained warriors, getting ready for the day that the Mando'ade would make their presence known in the galaxy once again.*
((Any Mandalorian or Senator recruits make your presence known in this thread. I'll get to them when I can.))
