from what i read they're made in the same factory, so the things you'd expect from a MR probably you'll get in a Hasbro..

Well I'd have to go with what I've read...
They use the same company, however the quality of Hasbro sabers is off because they're producing sabers a lot quicker than MR did, making mistakes a lot easier to make. Aside from that, though, they're essentially the same. If you're into collecting sabers, go with MR. If you just want to own a saber for the sake of owning a saber, then go with Hasbro.

I own both kinds and I can honestly say they seem for the most part the same, I am by no means an expert but they both feel extremely well crafted.

Doesn't Hasbro incorporate more plastic than metal in their model line though?

Doesn't Hasbro incorporate more plastic than metal in their model line though? I've heard that but I have yet to buy a Hasbro saber so I can't say... I'd like to know too.

I have two Hasbro Mauls and a Hasbro Obi. The Obi is the only one that feels like it has less quality than the MR. Both feel like they have as much metal as my MR Luke ANH. However, I haven't had the chance to handle them more thoroughly as I bought them as incentives for losing weight. I haven't reached my goals for them yet, but when I do I will post reviews in the reviews forum. However, based on initial feel, I would say that even the Obi still feels really well made. My Obi does have some very very slight wobble or something inside the handle, I think it may be a loose bundle of wiring. However, at the end of the day I would still say MR is better, because of collectibility (they will soon skyrocket even further in value) and they also have a very slight edge in quality. However, the Hasbro sabers still look and sound every bit as good as the MR, so don't be discouraged from buying Hasbro. I hope this helps. Also see a similar thread in which I brought up the question: forcefx.proboards43.com/index.cgi?board=hfx&action=display&thread=5037

Doesn't Hasbro incorporate more plastic than metal in their model line though? i dont think so, but the hasbro one may be looked more plastic than the MR ones.. but more plastic than metal? nope, but there's a slight difference in quality of the plastics maybe..

I have to say that I just got my Luke Skywalker EP IV Hasbro saber and Iwas a little dissappointed with the quality of the saber. The details are nice, however, the saber hilt is mostly plastic. I was expecting a more metal hilt like my EP III Anakin.
That seems to be the only difference that I can tell between the 2.

hey rogwilli welcome to the forum! Yeh the Luke is a bit plastic, but this makes it much lighter than the anakin, am i right in saying it's allot brighter? I'm sure the saber will grow on you
