This is a recent poll I am conducting to see which movie was more tragic to y'all! I think the fall of the Republic was tragic, but the scene in Return of the Jedi where Luke is being zapped by the Emperor must have felt worse to the audience!

I think that Revenge of the Sith was the most tragic movie of all the Star Wars films. My reasons for this is because it was the film where the most gifted of all the Jedi, Anakin, became an icon of evil. The movie had lots of tragedy in it. Ani lost Padme and believed he killed her, he turned his back on all the jedi including his father figure Obi-Wan, and he was mangled beyond recognition. This was the film where the talented Jedi took his fall. I can't say that Return of the Jedi was tragic because in all actuality, it was an awakening for Anakin. He realized that his love for his son was worth more than his corrupt dark powers. This was a film of redemption. The chosen one was redeemed by his son and he died in his son's arms. It was tragic that Anakin died, but in the end, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Yoda were all reunited with the force. They all looked happy at the end of the film. Long live Star Wars! It is truly the greatest epic adventure in the entire galaxy!

I give the nod here to attack of the clones, seeing the look on Yoda's face when the clones are boarding there ships at the end of the movie, right after he sort of chastises Obi-wan for thinking there battle was a victory. that was tragic to see... of course we could all throw a cheap laugh to the love story of this one too, not nearly as romantic or involving as Han and Leia from empire. the next Tragic moment i would say would again go to Yoda. right after Order 66 when Yoda holds his heart because he can sense the deaths of all the other Jedi... truly heart wrenching.

Ep. III was the most tragic, followed by Ep. II (Because so many Jedi died ). The others are all about the same... like with Obi-wan's death, Qui-gon's death, Maul's death! Anyways, my reasoning for Ep. III being the most tragic is because of all of the events that took place: Padme being killed, Obi-wan losing Anakin, the younglings being killed, Order 66. You can't help but feel all of that emotion.... so sad.

Hands down, ROTS was the most tragic in the entire 6. We witness the fall of the jedi, the failure of yoda, the transformation of Anakin, the death of padme, the slautering of the younglings, the fall of the republic, the rise of the emperor and forbidden love (with a romeo and Juliet feel.
This was by far the most tragic...with others we get a sensation of hope and the possibility of winning. In EpIII there is no feeling of hope only desaster and pain.
Not to mention it is th only one of the 6 rated pg13

I'm kinda surprised this is even a topic. There are sad components in each movie of course. But in my mind, nothing is as compelling as limb-less burnt up Anakin, devastated Obi wan, the fall of the Republic, and dead Padme.

I have to say ROTS because I cried at the part when he killed all those younglings. I felt the same emotion that Anakin did and I felt anger, hate, and sadness. It was tragic that he lost Padme just as I lost my boy friend who i was engage to. He broke up with me after the movie.

Most tragic movie out of the star wars series is episode 3 revenge of the sith no doubt. Its all about Anakin's fall to the darkside, and everything he lost because of it. (His wife, his hair, his limbs, his honor, himself.)

To be honest, I started to cry during Episode III when Anakin said "I hate you!" to Obi-Wan on Mustafar. That hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn't believe it, they were so close for so long and just the look of evil in his eyes, it was absolutely terrible. That, in my opinion, is the saddest moment of the entire Star Wars saga.
