I wanna know how Anakin can get delimed by Obi-Wan when he makes the fatefull leap up the lava bank in ROTS, but Darth Maul can't do it to Obi-Wan when Maul has the high ground in TPM and Obi-Wan flips over him from the lower ground. Obi-Wan was in far worse of a low ground situation than Anakin but somehow he managed to slice Darth Maul in half. Retarted!

MAul's overconfidence was his weakness. I just read the history of Darth Maul and seems to have made that type of mistake often. and got punished often. Even before he was a Darth.

Maul did have the higher ground. And while Obi wan is hurling in the air, flipping over Maul, spinning around and slicing Maul in half - Maul seems to just be.... standing there..... as if he is completely defenseless. It isn't very believable to me.

The answer is simple how would there have been any other movies if he died? The entire story line would have been screwed.

It was hard to believe the first time I saw Maul getting cut in half that it would just be that simple. But then I remembered that Maul had kicked Obi-Wan's saber down the shaft leaving Obi-Wan defenseless or so he thought. Maul took quite a few swings at the out of range Obi-Wan before he deactivated his saber. At this point Maul is probably waiting for Obi-Wan to tire and lose his grip and fall to his death. So for Obi-Wan to come to him unarmed as he thought must have seemed like a death wish, and it surprised Maul quite a bit as we see by his expression on his face. I do wish there was more to his death because there will never again be a double-bladed saber armed creature of death like Maul.

You wanna know why Maul wasn't able to slice Obi-wan when he jumped over him like when Anakin did the same jump over Obi in episode 3........Its pretty simple......It's a scripted movie, meaning that the outcome is going to be whatever it was written on paper (Which sucks of course) but thats the sad truth. If it were a real life situation with no scripts involved then that would of been a 50/50 possibility of Maul either catching Kenobi and slicing his limbs off, or just standing there looking stupid like he did in episode 1 and then getting sliced in half afterwords. So thank Lucas's scripted work for the conflict of this topic my friend.

Maul had the Advantage there a bit when Obi-Wan was hanging in there for his dear life. If it was me I would have force pushed his butt down that shaft and that would be the end of that. Maul would still be alive and anakin could have had Maul as his master.

The reason that Obi succeeded against maul is because maul wasnt expecting anything. When he jumped up over maul, he was in shock, and he had no clue that was going to happen
on the other hand, obi was succeeded against anakin, because he was fully expecting anakin to jump, hence "I have the high ground"

Agreed, Obi-Wan knew Anakin would jump because they were like brothers. Obi-Wan trained Anakin and knew Anakin's strengths. Obviously Force jumps were not one of them... ;D

Yeah Darth Maul died like a punk. He should have at least been tricked and force pushed into the force field. He was too into showing off with the jedi. He should've just pushed him down the shaft. Anakin had no chance in that jump on the lava bank.
