I am sure most people have heard of or seen this before, but if not here you go: This is a rare deleted scene from "Star Wars: A New Hope". When Luke sees the Star Distroyer attacking Leia's ship high above the planet he races off to Anchorhead to tell his friends. When he arrives he finds his best friend Biggs is back for a visit. The two reconnect and Biggs tells Luke he's going off to join the rebellion. After this scene Luke goes home and helps his Uncle buy two new droids to replace the one that broke down at the beginning of this deleted sequence. www.youtube.com/watch?v=us1sdD6_f2M

I'm going to have to agree with Lucas for deleting this scene.

yeah it was quite drawn out and a bit pointless imo.

I saw this first on the Deleted Magic DVD which used some audio from the radio dramam to fill in the gaps when Luke sees the battle. It does run long, but it adds to the character of Biggs when we meet him again later on Yavin nad we get a better sense of Luke's loss.

I had seen it before, but thanks anyway for spreading the video to other Star Wars fans. I think it does add a bit more story to ANH, shoulda been in the movie. Would've been awesome if Lucasfilm remastered it and put it into the Non-SE releases that are coming out.

I'm going to have to agree with Lucas for deleting this scene. Yes. me too. Usually, when I see s special edition, or some other version that has previously deleted scenes, I never seem to think that the deleted stuff adds anything beneficial to the original cut. These thngs are deleted for a reason. A prime example of this is "Apocolypse Now." The "Redux" version has something along the lines of 38 minutes of originally deleted footage. The film is already long, without the extra 38 minutes. Reinserting this stuff totally thorws the timing of the original film and adds nothing necessary to the story.

Some interesting footage there. I have seen the Tatooine scenes before, and agree that the film was better off without them, although it would have been good to see Biggs earlier in the film. Some of the other scenes were entertaining, too. I especially liked the one of Han biting his medal to test the quality of the gold. Lol. ;D

I just picked up the three movies on dvd (the ones from walmart that come with comics) But have not opened them to watch the non digital version. Should i get the box set instead? is the a new extras dvd released? and or is there a way to get that extras dvd by itself? I have the extras from the first dvd release but I love seeing all the model kit tricks(pig pong tables turned to death star surface ect) any new extras?
Started reading "Creating the world of starwars 365 days. Great behind the scean pics But someone "lost" the CD ....its a library book any one know whats on the CD? The more extras the more deleted stuff the better.

They should have kept the scene where Vader cuts Obiwan in half. LOL I am just joking by the way. That was pretty awesome to watch. It is totally cool that you have that. Thanks for the share!
