So many people despise Lando for betraying Han and the crew in ESB.But when you look at it ethically he was doing the right thing. So many peoples lives in cloud city were at risk.We all want him to help Han.As a leader he made the right choice. And besides he's lucky Vader didn't just use his Kung-Fu grip on him! ;D So it's a tuff choice. But when you weigh the risk on Lando's part I feel he made the right one.

I have never thought Lando a bad man. He is a good leader and did what he did in the interest of his people. He didnt do it to spite Han. He helped rescue Han inROTJ. I think he was just doing what any good leader would do. He knew that he could most likely rescue Han later, and his people would still live. If he didnt hand Han over then the empire would have got him some time and the whole of Bespin would be destroyed and Lando would have been killed, making it even harder to rescue Han. He made the right choice in my opinion.

one life (Han) vs the life of thousands/millions (Cloud City's entire population) He did not only the best thing in the interest of the people who worked for him, but it was a VERY selfless decision. Had he simply chosen not to "make that deal" with Vader simply to save Han because he was his friend, he put the lives of all of Cloud City in jeopardy. That would've been very selfish of him, favoring a friend over the lives of many innocent people. He was looking out for the greater good, so for anyone to think badly of him is just foolish. Besides, it all worked out in the end
