I had to put my cat to sleep the other day

I had to do one of the hardest things a pet owner could do the other day
One of my 2 cats Jedi Pitchey fell sick while I was at C4 on Monday.
When I got him to the vet they said it was too late.
It has spread to his kidneys and I had 2 options
One was to take him to a urgent care and they would thread him with Iv drips ,but that would cost about $3000-$4000 and would most likely not even work.
He had been sick off and on for 3 years now with FLIUD
This time I had got the poor little guy there too late.

We had to put him to sleep..
I have failed my good friend and will live with the guilt forever.
He was only 6 years young.
RIP Jedi Pitchey.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Kit.

I have always loved all animals, and cats in particular. I know excactly what you mean by looking upon them as furry people.

It is always difficult to say goodbye to a loved friend, but if you believe, as I do, that we all go to a better place, including animals, this can help you to cope with your grief.

It is odd because as a child I had a black cat with yellow eyes called...Jedi! He died many years ago and I still remember him fondly and miss him terribly.

These things happen, my friend. It is a terrible tragedy but you must not blame yourself. I can tell from the way you write about him that you cared for him and would have done anything in your power to help him. You were not to know that he would get so ill.

It sounds as though he had an ongoing health problem that he was bound to eventually succumb to. It is very sad, but not your fault.

You really do seem to have had a run of very bad luck recently, Kit. Have faith, my friend. There is purpose in all our lives.

I'm sorry to hear that Kit. My dog, Maximus Decimus Meridius VIII, has been dead 16 weeks coming this Monday. I miss him greatly and claim that I will never have another pet again (I don't want to deal with the sadness of loss) unless one can outlive me.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've had to put down an old cat of mine quite a few years ago. He was in my family since I was born. Not to mention another cat of mine that got hit by a car... which is really saddening because he was so lovey. >.<

I am sorry for your loss man, I am a big animal lover and I have 2 dogs. They literally are members of my family and I love them as much as anyone in my family. I have grown up around animals all my life and I know what it is like to lose one, but you must not blame yourself. It wasn't your fault AT ALL, these things happen, and it wasn't as though you ignored him, you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
DO NOT BLAME YOURSELF, otherwise the guilt will eat you inside and out, IT WASN'T YOUR FAULT. Chin up man, he is in a awesome place now and having an awesome time being completely free and at peace. He would be so upset if he was looking down on you and seeing that you were becoming depressed because you were blaming yourself when it wasn't your fault. Where ever he is he still loves you to bits and will be waiting for you and watching over you.
