8-)Hi Everyone!! Well I have to say that this took me by surprise;but; my wife is a director of a day care for 1-5 year olds.Well yesterday she asked me if on my vacation in june that I could on june6th come to the day care center and talk to a class of children about starwars and the lightsaber.Well not only I will have 4-5year olds;but;it's the summer program for ages 7-11 year olds too!!Wow I'm really excited about this and my wife wants me to come in costume too!!She told me that all the kids there saw the picture of me on her desk and wanted to meet her husband the jedi master lol!!So wish me luck guys and I'll post an up-date with pics!!May the force be with you all!!  This is the picture that's on my wifes desk. ;D |

I think that is simply awesome. Is your wife into SW too? If not, it's still awesome she is so understanding about it. I gather she would have to be into it a bit to have a husband who wears jedi robes and builds lightsabers in his spare time, though. LOL

lol it does make sense to me atleast lol only if the padawans could feel the power of darth vader lol but i guesse thats as good as they get is you looks like they hit high on the charts lol got one of the best jedi masters on the forum lol

;)Thanks for the kind words darthshivlow!!I for one talk to the children and not down to them if that kind of makes sense at all!!I look at them as if I were sitting there.My wife thinks that I'll stay young forever because of the kid in me which she said that she sees at times when I mess around with my lightsabers!! Not to change the subject;but;I'm really excited about what I'm going to do in a month or two.Well to make a long story short I'm going to make a lightsaber for my 14 year old grandson who will be surprised indeed!!I'm going to make another maglite saber with a luxeon-III green blade and a luke rotj soundmodule.I'm going to give him this saber this christmas time like obi-gave luke his!!Wow this makes my heart feel glad indeed!!  |

That is neat indeed Dajoquim. I’m sure the kids are going to be very excited to see some one actually dressed up like a Jedi. And making a saber for your grandson is sweet. Is he into Star Wars as much as you?

Believe it or not I actually have a few day care memories myself (I'm about to be 20, and yes I actually can remember back that far). It would have made my year if someone had came to visit our day care in full costume with lightsabers, but a friendly warning, don't be surprised if some of the kiddies are frightened by it. My 3 year old cousin is terrified of my FX sabers because she's seen episode 3 and thinks she's going to get her head lopped off.

Thanks for the kind words catharsis and yes he's a huge starwars fan and last christmas time I bought him a hasbro vader saber and he was tickled to death with it;but;he's at the age that I think that it's about time that I let him in to a bigger world!!Now just think of it years from now he will tell his friends this is the lightsaber that my grandfather DaJoQuim built me!! As for how I'm going to start with this special padawan meeting;A little at a time.First gain their trust and then talk with them.I can't wait for this!! ;D |
