CEL 4 what happened???!

I will go on about this in a minute I just wanted to make a place for us to discuss... Yes I went... Yes I went for 2 days not just one. Yes I saw EVERYTHING. No I did not hear about the bomb threat.... does anyone know about that?
Is that why the place was as dead as a graveyard?
Is that why there were hardly ANY vendors?
Is that why there were tons of things NOT announced going on and tons of things unlisted on the programs??
Is THAT why there were no vaders except 2??? In the entire place?
And where the heck was the 501st??
I saw the rocket man dress as boba fett and only like 25 troopers escorted him. One bad vader a terrible emperor and ooooooooooh god dont get me started.

I am VERY upset about that whole experience.
PEOPLE came from states around and even other countries and this was so poorly done that it looked like something Joe Smith throws in Indiana. Anyone can do a CONVENTION. But it takes LUCAS to throw a CELEBRATION. This was no tribute to 30th ANNIVERSARY FOR GODS SAKE. And where were the stars?

I don't mean to go on... I just... I drove 8hrs there and 8hrs back and took someone who had never been to a CEL and it was a dissapointment to have to say.... "ummm ah... its um not usually this.... well...empty and um.. with not much to do."

And in the lucasfilm area there were about 20 props tops.

We stood in line for that.

I stood in line for the vader helmet exhibition and no one told us it was not the real ones that it was a bunch that were painted by artists. I waited for 30 min.

starwars in 20 min was AMAZZZZZZZING THOUGH!!!!!!!

Yeah I kind of feel you.
Sat was VERY busy,but then they trapped us all in from a bomb threat,and it seems people might have been afraid to come back.

I didn`t go Sunday due to the combat trails,but I went every other day.

I was SOOOOOO pissed it all closes at 5pm Mpnday.
I had got there last at 3:30 and had just enough time to locate my friends and fix trouble I was having with my mask.
Once I fixed my mask I went back downstairs from the back foot court to take some last pics and I was like the only one laft in the building..
I had fun at C4 but it was a let down,I totally agree with you.

-Bigger convention hall... although I heard attendance was a bit lower.
-Vendors got pushed out by the unions fees. I heard that they were charging you to unload your merchandise. Even if you had a crew to do it by convention hall rules you couldn't do it.
-The last celebration only had maybe a dozen vaders. It's an expensive costume and hot to wear even indoors.
-Four days combined with above... not all 501st would be there in costume at all times. If you see the full pic of them there was maybe 200.


All those are various reasons this Celebration may not have been as crazy as the others.

I was there Thrus-Monday.
Sunday was my b-day so we ended up doing morning only and left to Hollywood.
The girls and I had a blast. I think us doing research about all the panels helped! I would have just wondered throughout the hall If I didn't.
Got Vaders autograph on Thursday. Mauls on Friday and Chewbacas on Monday. (he looked a little pissed =( I can understand, after 4 days of signing items)
It took us a few hours to get through all the vendors.
Got Luke's Force Fx saber (we are up to 5 now)
The bomb scare was a drag and did not understand the airheads (for lack of a better word) who were yelling at the authorities for emptying the hall. Better safe than sorry!

Love the Pirates pics, and as far as Chewie being pissed, I hear Peter Mayhew is almost always a bag o' douche at conventions so I'm not surprised.

Peter? No way! He is usually very sweet!

At cel 3 when I was standing in line for hours waiting for Prowse I watched the stars and Maul and Peter were the sweetest.. both of them were smiling ear to ear the entire time...

I also saw Peter at smaller cons and he is always talking to someone or taking a pic... usually all smiles... I've been smiled at from him too... he is a smiling kind of guy.. lol...

I dont know why he was upset when you met him.... that to me is oddd... but then again if you see how small the 30TH ANNIVERSARY got it was a bit depressing. I mean you only have ONE 30th.

I expected all the stars to come because people like carrie fisher, mark hamill and harrison ford all 3 were just starting out back then and Lucas made them. Also Hayden and Natalie were struggling and Lucas made them too... people that starred as c3po and chewie were there and that was to give thankx... Peter is Always at like every con... 3po is more selective.... The man that played R2 was there though.....

I really think Peter just has his days like everyone else.. and if I was a star from the films I would have been a bit upset too. It was a let down those last few days. I mean... wow.
On a 30th??? Lucas is probably just as upset.

I agree that it must have been one of those days! I must say that it was kind of a let down as I was so happy and excited to get Chewys autograph.... oh well, can't have it all ;D
