Lucas son is to be taking over the Star Wars franchise in a few years.. I met a interesting old man at C4 and he seemed like a upstanding trustworthy guy. He said he had got word from Lucas arts employees that Georges Lucas will be handing over the Star wars franchise to his son when his son turns 21.(His son is 19 now I believe) We went on to say that his son plans to make eps 7,8,&9 You heard it here FIRST at the Jediarchives  |

Thats cool if 7,8 and 9 of star wars movies get made by lucas's son i just hope that they will be as good or if not a little better but i guess we have to wait and see what happens

WHOA no way,,, god I hope not. Lucas has said No to episodes after Vader a BILLION TIMES. Everyone knows that!!! And why would he give his dream away when he is still alive and kicking?? He will probably share the enterprise... but according to Lucas it is his dream. "We went on to say that his son plans to make eps 7,8,&9" well who the heck was this guy?? I know Lucas said again and again it is anakins story... people don't like that but that is the way that the writer Says it IS. There is not much anyone can do about it. If that is what he said that is what he said. Can't we just move on here...?? Why not focus on all those INCREDIBLE stories that happened BEFORE Anakin and Luke? Those characters are reallllllly interesting... the beginings of the Jedi and the start of the sith would be verrrrrrrrrrry interesting. I don't know why the tv series doesnt go into that. We all know what happens after ep3... and the rebels and the beginings of the rebellion.. It will end up a bit like battlestar gallactica and then they will be competing. And they will have no Mara Jade or Luke or anyone. No Leia... just mentions of their names I bet... but why not take us out of that world that we know so so so well and go back to the begining of the beginings?? Ah well. If his son does take it I doubt it will be at 21. Unless he is INCREDIBLY mature... Because it doesn't just take dreams and ideas it takes a HECK of a LOT of hard work, VERY thick skin, and so much ability to take pain in hollywood. I would really think that his son would want to live a little first and find out what he wants to do with his life. Otherwise we might get him doing things that are just weird. I really just don't think Lucas would ever give his enterprise away like that. I just don't ....Yeah I know he will pass it on only to family when he goes because he is sooooooooo ATTACHED to it. We all know that! Yet, to give up all that control and power and all his dreams and ambitions with it NOW? It does not seem like Lucas at all. IF he is anything all the actors and everyone that has met him has said he is a control freak. lol. Well its true and we should remember that. I just don't think he would give total control over like that. eeeeeeek.... it even scares me let alone... the creator of it. My vote is No... please dont!! It all started with THX .. in college...  ....and starwars is like an extention of this film.... in SO many ways... (the psychological and the meanings) he even said so. And I just think that starwars and Thx should always just and only belong to him and his own mind. and the fans. wink. Its just HIS.... I dont know... it would feel really WEIRD if it was anyone else. I would not go for anything that was not written or WELL controlled by Lucas himself. Even if it was his son... its not cannon its not george.. its not the little boy that grew up with an extra room filled with comic books and who grew up racing cars until the accident and who grew up with a sick mom... its just not his spirit.LADY JADE LIGHT aka XeVrica xxx  |

Your taking this out of hand Xevrica im sure if George Lucas gives the franchise to his son he would have Supervision and be Co directer and Co Writer or something like that i honestly dont see a problem with George Lucas giving his son the franchise cause we will get 7,8,9 And it will probly continue the Skywalker Legacy Like continued it but instead of anakin,luke be the main character it would probly be Ben Skywalker or something

Do you know how many people would actually go see those flicks?! lol I know I would  As for Lucas's son...I have a good feeling that he will do a good job as being the new head of the star wars franchise, since he pretty much grew up in it, and probably studied everything that his dad did as a writer and a director over the years [/glow] |

I would love to see someone younger and perhaps a bit more enthusiastic take over the making of the movies. I think George has lost a bit of his "spark" over the years and some new blood might be great.
I am guessing George would never completely hand over things to his son while he is alive, but since no doubt the kid grew up on Star Wars and talked to his dad constantly about it, I am sure he has a good idea of what it would take to make not only an awesome movie, but also the ability to hold true to his dad's vision.

My only concern is if 7,8,9 are made that they made screw up the canon of the novels which i love as much if not more than the movies

1, 2, and 3 were Anakin's story. 4, 5, and 6 were still part of Anakin's story, but also his sons. If they make 7, 8, and 9, then the least they could do is continue the Skywalker legacy through these films, assuming they get made.
