What does everyone think 7, 8, and 9 will consist of? Should it be the "Heir to the Empire", "Dark Force Rising", and "The Last Command" trilogy, or should it start with "The Truce at Bakura", or even "The Courtship of Princess Leia"? Perhaps even as mentioned here earlier, maybe it will be material that wasn't a novel previously (I agree, that would suck!). I'd really like to see them delve into the Yuuzhan Vong era, but I suspect that that is to far into the future of Star Wars to consider for this project. Oh well, time will surely tell.

Well, if they ever really do happen, my dream would be something from the New Jedi Order, or at least drawing on the New Jedi Order stuff. Unfortunately that would pretty much mean recasting, which I know that many (including myself) would not stand for.

what they could do if it was set in the NJO is just do cameos of the original cast and introduce and focus on jaina,jacen,kyp,jagg, and such so that way they wont recast the major characters of the series

yeah they could do that or they could have new jedi join the new jedi order.

Thing is, you can't do the NJO without Luke. Recasting Luke is blasphemy, and it wouldn't work without him unless you set it far into the future (which also would screw with continuity).

Luke would still be there just not as the major character, they could focus on jacen and jaina and other jedi
