Scion, I havent tried to do anything with my Obi Wan Yet, so I do not know if a light polish for chrome would work or not. Maybe something very mild like Mother's Chrome polish.
Those may still affect the finish adversely though. I would think that something very very mild probably wouldn't hurt, but I think there might be a clearcoat on the obi wan's chrome parts, and that would not be a good idea t put anything on it. Maybe a light coat of carnuba wax, or a light silicone basd polish. Guitar polish comes to mind.
vader's butler, we aim to please! ;D Congrats on the Luke ROTJ! It's a great saber, and will bring you many years of enjoyment! BTW welcome!

So you have the 2003 Version of the Luke ROTJ then right? If so, I'm probably not much help in that department, because I haven't mucked about inside the EL versions. If it's the 2005 Luke ROTJ, it's an LED saber, and you could go with one of Ultra's kits found here: ultrasabers.comFor electroluminescent stuff you can go to TCSS forums...but make sure you realize that the boards ARE connected to a store. I reccomend reading the forum FAQ andThread index first before posting over there. The forums have a search feature that is VERY handy. Here's the links: Store: www.thecustomsabershop.com/Forum thread index: www.thecustomsabershop.com/forum/index.phpHope this helps a bit.

A few places have teardown faqs for the vader. Are you speakning of the ESB 2005 FX? Was there a specific problem you were having? Perhaps we can help! Here is a teardown and re-assembly tutorial for luxeon conversions over at TCSS. You could use it as a guide for disassembly and just reassemble it in reverse order. Otherwise, you can purcase one of the conversion kits From Tim/Strydur through the store there at TCSS! 05 MR Vader teardown: www.thecustomsabershop.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3 Be forewarned that you do have to remove the switch to take the vader apart, and this could result in cosmetic damage to the activation box if you're not REALLY careful about it.

I posted earlier on the thread with the sounds that its doing. I've also tried the suggestions made at the beginning of the posts. My vader is an older version, the one that takes 6 batteries.

Oh its the ANH Vader, sorry... I'm not too sure on that one, haven't had much experience with them. I'm confident that someone may have more insight on the ANH Vader than I. Any takers?

your Vader ANH is normal. the Vader ANH was infamous for having a faulty sound chip. (well, not really "faulty" per se.. as it actually was 'programmed' to operate differently) ---> while all the other sabers will play out a full sound effect before starting a new one, the Vader ANH would "begin" a new clip whenever the motion sensor went off, EVEN if there was a sound effect already playing. net effect: the old vader ANH had a digitial "stutter" like max headroom. (like late-80's hip hop) "sw-swo-swoo-Swoosh!" ---> the new ones are different. they will always play out the entire "swoosh" before starting a new one. so you might get a half-dozen "swoosh" sounds in a row.. ..but it will never "stutter" the sounds, or mash them together, or anything weird like that. Also, the old 2003 vader ANH had incredibly sensitive motion sensors, which didn't help matters much. you can just gently rotate your wrist while holding it, and it will stutter a bunch of "swoosh" sounds. --> they improved the new vader ESB model by "stiffening" the motion sensors, so its a lot harder to trigger them; also by reprogramming the sound chip so it would always "finish" a sound effect before starting another one (so it won't stutter). if you took apart your vader ANH you'd find everything inside is exactly as it should be (its a quirky model, which led to many improvements) mine does exactly the same thing

Thanks Cobalt60 and Darth Morbius, I guess I won't rip it open and just let it look pretty above my computer I'll just need to pick up the EBS version or an Anakin sometime and use that for dueling. I wish that this one wasn't the bad one. I like the bigger handle on this one.

I got problems also with my Vader ANH (the old one) and I hope somebody could help me out. Others complain that it keeps making funny sounds or it doesn't light up, here's the funny thing about mine, it's in SLOW MOTION both sounds and lightin up. I tried taking out the batteries and putting them back in, still the same thing. Batteries are practically new and I only use the saber for display only. Anybody have any idea?

Any ideas... yeah. The Vader ANH was garbage. It was the worst saber MR ever put out except the first release of the AOTC Ani.
If you're having problems with it it's because of MR's crappy building. Slow motions and stutter are all stuff that deals with the board. You're bum out of luck.
