How much are these things? If they're $150 or no less than $200 I wanna try to buy four kits so I can try to make my own custom hilt & dual-wield those (yes call me crazy).

So true even tho its a very nice idea and if i do see one ill most probably get it the quality has gone back wards. In my point of view thats a bad way to go they could of made the saber ive always wanted the obi tpm but instead brought out this blast from the past D.I.Y toy looking saber kit. Bad move MR it could of finished well with just 1 last saber but instead you flopped with what looks like a oh sod it this will do build it yourself kit bad bad bad.
maybe just maybe its the pics that make the blade look bad but still either way i would still get it lets face it we all would like to mess about with our sabers and make them look different.

[glow=red,8,300] The quality may be lacking but it is awesome to build your own saber...
We went to 'Once Upon A Toy' at Disney to the "Build Your Own Lightsaber" display and for $20 built a telescoping saber...
Its cheap but FUN...then you tell the clerk you're a Sith/Jedi and they give you batteries and a Sith or Jedi pin...
It was awesome...this looks even cooler...however...I may be more inclined to save up for a stunt saber like UltraSabers or another similar... [/glow]

After looking at this 'creation', you know what it tells me? That the LucasFilm contract was up and instead of having to make more of the current line Force FX sabers, MR decided to slap this together in an attempt to get rid of their spare parts. There's a ton of stuff in there that comes from existing sabers such as the Luke ROTJ end pieces or Vader middle (minus the wires). It's only saving grace would have been the blade, which is cocked up completely.
I agree with Darth Morbius... we could have had a Dooku or Qui-Gon or Obi Wan (TPM) instead of this abomination. Bad move MR.

It might be a point of interest that this saber kit uses a Prolight RGB Luxeon type star. It's a set of 3 1 watt LEDs that share a common negative tab on the star, and has a positive tab for each color. Unfortunately this means that you can't modify it to mix colors very easily. HOWEVER this does not mean that you can't swap out the LED with a Luxeon Rebel ENDOR STAR tri lux and mod the wiring... Also, a member over at FX-Sabers has done a teardown of the saber, and tested it with an Ultrablade with some decent results.

I saw the kit in a Radio Shack in Beverly Hills a week ago.It was on sale for $79.99. It's cool because you have a lot of part to build your own custome saber even without makeing whats on the box.Money was tight for Christmas, if not I would have a new saber!!!
