Yeah my armor is going to be made out of cardboard box's from PS2 and PS3. Who else would do it...LOL! But it will look all that much sweeter when they are complete.

Well I can't wait to see that. It is truly amazing what you can make a costume out of it you look at it in a certain way LOL! Through the continued deciding I always wondered what will I use for a weapon as in blaster wise. Nothing really came to mind of that part. I was figuring of going out to Wal*Mart and buying the foam dart clonetrooper blaster for $20.00. I even discussed the idea with my nephew Jasen and he is only 10 years old. So his idea was simple and did not even have to break a sweat when telling or showing me. He went into his room and pulled out his Nerf CS-6 Longshot blaster. He ran back into my room and handed me the attachments and even his longshot and told me "You can use this Jamie." Overall I was suprised to see Jasen let me use one of the toys that he got for what...$40.00. He was actually thrilled when he heard that I was attempting to make a set of mandalorian armor and came to my aid with a longshot blaster that is usually expensive. Luckily, I did not have to spend a dime thanks to my nephew. So after agreeing with the terms of helping him build a bounty hunter out-fit we went ahead and took some photos of the Longshot. I am the one that took the photos and that's my nephew with the longshot. I am looking forward to painting this bad boy and readying it for the Saboten Con and even the Phoenix Cactus Comi-Con that are coming up. Truly I thank my nephew for allowing me to use his longshot. Truly amazing!!!!

I personally bought a Nerf Recon. Not unlike the Longshot. Modded it, painted it black, and it looks pretty nice. For 20 bucks, it wasn't a bad buy. And in my opinion, it will look better than the Longshot. No handles sticking out the side conspicuously.

Not a bad idea. What did you use to paint it? Two coats of primer and two coats of black paint, spot finished after those two had dried. Spray paint bought at Home Depot.

What I heard from some people who also go with custom mandalorians is to use Krylon Fusion on plastic. It sticks to anything and works well. Maybe a little expensive but its worth it in the long run.

Hey guys today was one of those days that Phoenix, Arizona got some rain and the humidity rose up around 89%. Pretty bad I must say counting that our weather is wierd no matter what way you have to put it. Rain, snow, hail, watever it is it threatens us Arizonians. Anyway, it is time for some updates. It was a good day to finish the fitting of the armor. Took a while counting that the armor can be folded a number of ways to get the perfect form to one's body. Took about ten minutes for each armor peace. I then moved over to the belts I had gotten from goodwill. Both of them at a reasonable price where I did not have to pay over $5.00 which gave me enough spending cash for getting a vest and possibly some paint for the armor peaces. But the belts are looking great. To bad I only managed to get two of them around my skinny waist. But after a while I looked more into some of the stuff I was given after leaving the NJROTC program. I then noticed the braid (agulete) from the Drill Team Without Arms that I was apart of and figured it would make a good trinket for my armor. It could act as some sort of trophy that my mando won during a fight. I gave it a try (unfortunately no pic of it) and it looked good. So the belts and all are ready as are the boots which I will have photos posted up soon. Mostly everything is complete and ready except for the helmet, armor, and weapon. That's mostly it. As another part of this update I was thinking what will I use to hide my bare black back. I kept thinking this over and over again until it came to mind of using a black cloak. So I am thinking of pulling out my old black cloak I used on another costume and put it into play for my mando armor. The hood will remain down unless my mando goes stealthy or undercover.

A few extras to put into my armor work progress. I am nearing the completion of the soft stuff. Basically, the black tops, bottoms, belts, and gloves. Not much more to add except for the vest which I am hopping to get to Wal*Mart to get it and start up with it all. And since I wont be wearing a black plate anytime soon I figured to wear some sort of cloak. I managed to find the one I was using on a different costume and figured to add it into my mando in case he wants to go stealthy or under-cover.
Now as for the weapon; the colors of what I am planing are simple and are mostly like the armor colors. Red and black. The weapon too is going to be red and black but will have that silver/gray like color to it to increase the looks in it. There is really not much more to go through except for painting and attaching. Mostly everything is ready to be trooping around in. All it needs is that fresh coat of paint.

Alright the cloak idea may not work. I went searching through my room today along with some cleaning and could not find it for the life of me. However, I figured out some things that I am going to be putting into the armor. Let's start with some updates:So I was looking over the peaces of armor I made out of my PS2 and PS3 box's and noticed a number of lines going through the cardboard. With the mando mercs site I am apart of someone actually brought it up to me just as I noticed it. By looking at it; the ridges would remain there unless covered by a smoother surface of cardboard (like a cereal box). I went with the idea of using a smoother surface peace of cardboard and tried it out on the medallian (diamond thing) of my armor. I glued the smooth surface to the top of where the ridged lines where and it turned out really good. Tomorrow I am going over to Wal*Mart to get some adhesive glue along with some paint to begin the painting color progress on the armor. I am also going to add some resin over it to keep the cardboard sturdy for when I am trooping around in Arizona. Busy day tomorrow but hopefully one of those fun-filled days that will work out in the long run. Next up I have already gained a starting position on my gauntlet armor. Funny thing is I am using a gatorade bottle for my gauntlet. Thanks to my sister I manage to get .77 cent gatorade bottlles and they will be in use for my armor as well. Already began work on them but wont finish them until the main peaces of armor are done and ready. On the last one my sharpie marker ran out of ink as I started drawing the line of where I want to cut. But I have a pretty good image in my mind of where I am going to cut for the gaunts. I'll keep you all updated on it.

Okay I decided to move on with my gauntlets. I took the gatorade bottle, a sharp knife, and some scissors and worked into cutting both the top and the bottom off. The next step for this mando gauntlet is to get it painted and add some padding to the inside. Because right now it fits up to my elbow. So I need to get it painted first with some Krylon Fusion paint and padd it so it will have a firm fit onto my arm.

After cutting the other gatorade bottle from the top and bottom I decided to test fit the gaunts with the wrapping and my gloves. I had to take a quick picture before they fell down to my elbows. Once they are painted up and fitted with padding they will be all set for the mando armor.
