Hey guys I've posted something like this up in at least two other different forums and thought why not post it on here. But yeah ideas for my next costume are indeed flowing upward. Sketches and ideas are slowing coming into play. I will have them up along with progress pictures as time moves forward. My goal is to possibly have it done by the next comi-con in Arizona. But if I don't then that's cool. I don't want to rush in this new project of mine that I am considering into.

I thought Mando costumes usually consist of Mando armor...unless you are doing something else with it?

That's my idea. I am making mandalorian armor. Counting towards pain that I will need as well as a mando helmet it will be simple hopfully. My idea is ranging for a mandalorian medic of my own unique design. My chest armor plates will be up soon in sketches to show you guys.

I've finally got a good sketch down of my chest and stomach armor and what's going to be on it with dents, scars, and all that. My idea is actually based areound Jedi Master Rahm Kota's armor. But I have my own little twist to it. Instead of the sash and little box thing on his stomach I've decided to take those two things away and push into a stomach chest peace like what you see with most mandalorian warriors. I've also come to a conclusion of not using the necked armor peace or the little diamond in the center chest that you see on most mandalorians. I am going to make the peaces a little bigger when I construct them but other then that it is going to be minimum. As stated my design is around Rahm Kota. I will still have the standard mandalorian helmet along with a unique design as well. More sketched pictures are to come.

Keep in mind, you want something that is going to go along with your body structure instead of just hoping it works and fits. Measure yourself where the armor is going to go and then put that on paper. Afterwards you can stencil it on whatever you are going to make the armor out of. Have you ever done anything like what you are thinking about doing? What are you going to make it out of? Do you have tools to work with? Making armor isn't awfully difficult to do, but you need the tools to start it with. A dremel is really al you need. I did some armor... and I'll post some pictures. The shaping and painting are the hardest thing to do. Practice practice practice.

Not to worry. With the site I am a member of I am gaining all the help I can get. Before making it out of my desired material I am actually going to cut it out of cardboard and see how it fits. After that I will trace the pieces of cardboard onto my choosen material to make it out of. My main plan is to make it out of trash can's. I know it may say wierd but hey I believe it is a cool idea.

Trash cans? Metal or plastic? The bad thing about that is you cannot mold it. If you are going to make armor, make it fit you.

Plastic....a person on a different site said that plastic trash cans can help much in fitting and piecing together.

Well heres the thing. They are usually round, and since they are already shaped a certain way...you cannot shape them differently. Unless you cut the shapes into really small parts, and then find a way to attach them to each other...good luck.

Theoretically speaking, you could heat the pieces and bend them, but thats imprecise, not to mention possibly dangerous.

I don't really think that would work. It's not the right type of plastic. On the other hand...IF you were to buy some PVC sentra, THAT could be heated and shaped to whatever you want. It's not too expensive either. I got 10 sheets of it (8x10in) for like 20 bucks. That's plenty of material to work with.

Pictures and sketches are slowly coming through into play. With my armor I am looking to try it with some cardboard before going into the trashcans. I want to see how it fits before I continue forward. But aside from that everything is going well with the design I am pushing towards with sketches.

Can't wait to see the final product. For my Mando I use Motocross gear and my Air force vest. Might might not help.
Can't wait! *Squeals in excitment*

PVC Se/intra is a great way to make the armor, although it might take longer to make but i think it would be alot better to use, get some PVC se/intra man!!!

I'll get whatever I can find first. It may take a while but I am always up for a challenge. It is my nature.
