I am totally gonna get an ultra upgrade, however I dont want it to interfear with the sound of my ESB Vader since thats my favorite part about it. They dont mess with the sound do they? The sound is the same. Some people that I have talked to about it seem to think the sound is louder than normal. It could be that people "think" the sound is louder because the saber is much cooler than before! ;D ;D From what I gather, the conversion only affects the behavior of the scrolling effect (there is none) of the blade, since the mod is wired into the original led connector, motion sensor, and clash sensor. Not sure as to how because I have not seen actual wiring diagrams for the mod yet. Ultra's site does state that the saber keeps all the sound though.

i heard on another thread that they dim out in the middle after a while I believe the dimming out is caused by the polyC blade bending a bit. This does have a tendency to happen even when storing polyC blades in the horizontal position for long periods of time This can be especially true if you duel a lot with the same blade. The stock MR blades are pretty thin in comparison to upgraded, thick-walled (1/8") PolyC blades, and have a tendency to warp, or even snap under heavy dueling. It's ALWAYS a good idea to get an upgraded blade for this reason when converting to a lux. Or so I have been taught. ;D Almost forgot that you should mirror the tip, or use one of Ultra's blade tips for your upgrade to help this.

If you get the conversion, you get the new Ultra FiberOptic Blade contains a new film that allows for a more even lighting of the blade. Plus, they replace the tip with a newly designed tip.
When you combine the Luxeon III with the new Fiber Optic Blades, they are truly awesome.
Plus, Ultra is working on a new sound board, so in the future they hope to be able to do conversions to a Luxeon V and have sound with it!

Yeah, Ultra is the man when it comes to lux conversions. He is constantly working on ways to improve the process, and the product. I have seen other sabers from other guys on ebay, and did you know that they use double sided tape to hold the blade in??? Ultra is the only one who uses screws in every saber. I don't know about you guys, but I want a set screw in my blade!!!

I looked around on their website and saw no mention of a fiber optic blade thing to include with a UltraSaber.

All of his blades are now fiber optic, he calls them ultrablades. You don't have to request them, just the color of the blade you want.

Yep, just like he said. They all come standard now with the Fiber Optic film included. You can purchase them on the site, or you can go to their ebay business also.
sometimes you'll find things for sale on the Ebay store that aren't reflected on the site.
For example: They just got a shipment of Luke ROTJ Do It Yourself kits in, but according to the website, they are Out of Stock. If you go to their ebay store, you could purchase them.

Yeah, I noticed that Ultra's site doesn't get the updates all that often, but the ebay store usually does have some interesting things.
Actually somone is selling an Ultra Anakin ROTS on ebay for $160. That is a really good price!
Hey Raijlin, are those sabers in your sig red/orange or just red? They look really evenly lit. NICE!

I would recommend purchasing one of ultras blades if you buy a DIY kit though. The kit doesn't include a new blade, but hey, the ultrablades are only $22 an well worth every penny.

Those are red if you can actually believe it. LOL...
For whatever reason, my digital camera seems to pick them up as Red/Orange unless I am a good distance away.
I wonder if Red/Orange would appear as yellow then on camera....LOL!
Yeah, they appeared really evenly lit. i was happy with the picture.

I think it just depends on the camera for the red/orange. I've seen red/orange that looks more like an amber color, and in other pics they look more red. Nice sabers though!

I'm a big fan of ultrasabers. I've been considering an Ultrasaber for myself but I'm not sure which one to get. personally I'd love a Mace because I was always sort of unsatisfied by the 'blotchy' blade on my Mace. Also I would love a double Maul, because the removeable blades would make the thing a lot more manageable (fully assembled the double maul FX is like 8 feet long. ; also I think it would be great to have the option to remove one blade and weild the "double" hilt as a single-bladed saber. ie:maul@tatooine). at the same time the Luke is discontinued, so buying a luxeon might be the last chance to get one at all, and its the only one that has a built-in belt-hook (hehe). very important. that makes it a great candidate for luxeon right there LOL. and then there's anakin and vader. these would probably be more fun than all of the above. heh. but where do you stop? or rather.. where do you start? I'd buy one tomorrow if I could only make up my freakin' mind. heh :/ i have the luke and it seems that the belt loop is really cheaply made cause it got bent really easily

i have the luke and it seems that the belt loop is really cheaply made cause it got bent really easily I agree, the MR belt loop is kinda flimsy on the Luke ROTJ. You do have a couple options on that though. You could replace it with a stronger loop, or install a covertec knob on the pommel and use a covertec clip...
